UPS Help needed
 

Hey gang
I use a pellet stove to heat my house. It is 120 V with a 3 amp fuse. I want to put a UPS in line so when I lose power during cold weather the UPS gives me time to get the gennie cranked up.

I bought an APC 860 Watt UPS but it won't run the stove. So...how many Watts do I need the UPS to generate?

I'm not sure any consumer-grade UPS is up to that task.

What's the draw on the stove?

I don't know how to determine that:(

There should some some sort of label where the cord goes in, or you could look up the info on the company's website.

Yikes! The main blower is labeled for 74A!! My house is only wired for 100A. I'm guessing thats what it draws on startup?

Thanks Thom! Thats a great help. It looks like a UPS for this app is going to be way to expensive. Guess i'll just need to be more proficient in getting the gennie up and running.
