Get rid of those unwanted CDs

Here is a great site! www.lala.com
I have hundreds of old cd's, many that I do not listen to. This gives me a way to trade them for something I want.

1) go there, register and list all of the cd's that you want to get rid of.
2) List all of the cd's you are looking for.

lala sends you a packet of mailers and for every cd that you give away, you get one of your needed cd's for a dollar(billed to your credit card).

Its very easy and I have been able to rid myself of a couple of real dogs out of my music collection. Another cool thing is that they give a small amount back to the musicians. Check it out.

I sold my old CDs to a local Wherehouse Music store. You can either get cash or credit. If you take the credit option you get more value for your stuff. I think I ended up with $167 worth of credit. Unfortunately that goes pretty quick.

I have a better idea...

pull!

For data CD's, a co-worker's wife is a teacher and uses them in her art classes. Fortunately she's not in Tejas, and thus doesn't get fired when kids see CD's without covers on them...

Well, that is the obvious and old-school solution. Most used cd stores value your trades from $2 to $4.00 (if you are lucky). This applies in credit towards CD's costing $6-$8.00. They have to make a decent profit, right?

With this service, the trades are esentially 1 to 1 in value minus approx $1.70 for the service fee and shipping. Plus you dont have to go to the store and deal with the punk kid behind the counter

At this point, this service seems to be heavily supported by the Indie scene. Hopefully it will become more mainstream so that I can dump all of my wifes crappy country and Celine Dion CD'd
