Some people have the same blinkers about Unions that others have about Religions. I.E. they can do no wrong.
I have an Uncle (by Marriage), who was a coal miner in Wales 50 years ago before he came to Canada, and as any Brit will tell you coal miners (esp Welsh) were the left wing fanatics of the union world. Many Brits never forgave them for rightly or wrongly going on strike during WWII. He still thinks things are the same now. I get torn a new one every time I see him because I am "Management" and only after profit and screw the workers. When I point out that the largest share holder in my company (and many others) is a Union pension (he is retired and on SEVERAL pensions tied to company profits), he just storms out of the room.
