No, what's funny is that when someone is called out and asked to explain their statements, they immediately fingerpoint. Same reason I gave-up debating liberals. No real substance (logic) to their discussions, just feelings and fingerpointing, which goes nowhere.
Wow- there's a lot of lameness in this discussion. Too much to even get into it. I'm with Nathan's_Dad on this one. Cool_Chick = not so cool. I thought Snowman's comment was funny. Maybe it would have been more accurate if he replaced "Commies" with "Socialists"? Socialists do tend to hang-out in dense urban areas with lots of coffee shops. In rural America, I reckon they'd stand-out too much and get their ass whupped. |

And I didn't see anyone ask for snowman to explain his statement, so I'm not sure what you're talking about. However, his statement was all about feelings and fingerpointing, no substance however. Quote:

I will add, the ruralfolk who travel here are the ones who are pretty defenseless. Those tourists are immediate targets. |
CC, I'm sorry you are so upset with the rural people in this nation. I'm sorry you feel they are sponging off the hard working city folk like yourself. I happen to vehemently disagree with you, but you have a right to your opinion.
Bottom line is that you are not responsible for what Snowman or anyone else says or does. You ARE responsible for how you act in response. You would be a lot better off if you wouldn't resort to lowering yourself to the level of your attacker. It just makes you look bad. I think if you sleep on this and come back to this thread you will realize that your comments about the hard working farmers and ranchers of this country are way out of line. |
Nathan's dad, when in the HELL are you going to say something to Snowman?
His comments to us hardworking cityfolk are way out of line. And since when did we become "socialists?" |
Nathans_dad, I am a libertarian, and I detest welfare. As such, I have a real issue with farmers welfare as well. I'm sorry, but I do. That's how libertarians are. So I'll be damned if they can sponge off of me with a pass, and I'm supposed to like it because they're "farmers".....while single-mothers working ***** jobs get lambasted as "lazy". And people like ME are labeled as "non-dependent" because I live in an area that most rural people couldn't afford?
A farmer sponging off of me is no better than that single mother. |

Cool_Chick- I was just trying to get you going since you're clearly "on tilt". Since when does anyone in the OT prove anything? |

Snowman has a long and sordid history of posting inflammatory BS on this board. Continually responding to him is like telling Pat he is wacko every day. It's accepted that Pat is wacko and that Snowman is a troll. It's like the sky being blue. What wasn't accepted was that you have a pretty intense dislike of rural people in this country. As the old saying goes, don't wrestle with a pig. You both get muddy and the pig likes it. You chose to wrestle with the pig this time and your dirt is showing. It's always better to choose the high road instead of lowering yourself to the argument of your opponent. |

There can be an argument made that if we didn't have welfare, we'd become a third world country and fast. There's an argument that unhealthy people are unproductive people. Either you're for welfare, farm or otherwise, or you're not. |

I'm afraid that.....yes, the judges have determined that this makes absolutely no sense whatsoever in any conceivable context. I'm sorry, you have been eliminated from the game, please turn in your buzzer and name plate when you leave.:D |

Does that mean people who denounce individual welfare have an intense dislike for single mothers? How goofy! |
So CC thinks people who live in rural areas are uneducated? Hmmm. Most folks in the rural area where I live are indeed college educated and hold decent paying jobs.
CC just for fun, maybe you should walk into a Bureau of Motor Vehicles in the city, then visit one in a rural area. I am guessing you might reconsider your opinion about what communities harbor the largest percentage of dirtbags. ;) |
Farmers smell bad.
Everyone knows that. And if they didn't have single mothers picking the crap out of the farm, the farmers would smell even worse than they do now. Probably as bad as Snowman. |
The foulest smelling farmers are the man-pigs.
|
Bull, I know lots of farm-crap-pickers that aren't single mothers. Why do you always have to generalize?
|
Oh, and my great Uncle on my fathers side raised a family of six picking farm crap, there's honor in the trade.

I'll quit badgering CC about this, suffice to say I think she misspoke a bit and allowed herself to be pulled into a mudslinging match. It happens to all of us.
The one point I do want to make is that both of those maps make it obvious why the founding fathers came up with the electoral college system. If not for that, the country would be solely run in accordance with the desires of the few high population centers and a huge chunk of the country would simply be forgotten. God Bless those old dudes for being so damn smart. |
