Dani Pedrosa Fan Club?

Anyone think we should start a Dani Pedrosa Fan Club? Other than the complete lack of brains, common sense, humility or decency, I think he has what it takes to be the next big thing on MotoGP.

Grrrrrrrrrr.... what an asshat. I think Nicky took it pretty well. That little turd needs to be flushed.

OTH, I'm happy to see Rossi heading towards another WC. He deserves it. Nicky needs to step it up a few notches before he's ready to be the King.

Racers race. What can you say? Danny did a no brainer this time. All the other races he rides great, including his World Championship years. You can't judge him from one race. We've all made mistakes. Right? Or you haven't made any mistakes? Doesn't matter anyway, "The Doctor" is way better. Even on inferior equiptment. And although we may not agree on the Pedrosa mistake, we can agree on who is the best rider...Rossi.

I loved in DP's news conference he said he apologized and he was sad because Nicky was sad, and oh, I broke my finger. I really wanted see Nicky to club the little gnome upside the head but as said, Nicky is dealing with this as well or better than expected. Gonna be interesting in Valencia what DP does to help.

I agree, Nicky will have lost the championship not due to this but because he has sucked since Laguna. But I disagree about Pedrosa and this being a pure "racing incident".

Do you remember when Nicky and Rossi were on the same Honda equiptment? Most of the time Nicky didn't even know which way Rossi went. Nicky's good....real good. The best hope for an American world champion. But Rossi's from another planet. Nicky on a Yamaha and Rossi on a Honda? You have to be kidding. The only reason they are this close is because the bikes have such a performance difference. Honda will win the manufacture's title, but you know the guys at Honda still look back and wish Rossi never left. As long as he races, he will be king of MotoGP.

Just a question? Are you a two wheel man?

The Yamaha isn't THAT bad this year... Colin is running decent on it here and there. Yes, I agree the Honda is a better bike, but look what Nicky's been stuck with this year. Something like 9 frames so far this season? Sometimes I think Honda is more worried about next year's bike than they are about Nicky winning the title. I really don't think Honda is behind Nicky all the way. Seems like Dani is getting better treatment. The future is 100lb, 5' riders coming up from 250. Especially with next year's bike. Nicky is a flat tracker. That style is just not going to suit the new bike at all.

Comparing Nicky and Rossi three years ago is somwhat unfair. Rossi had been in MotoGP or 500GP for a while not to mention he had been riding on the tracks for years. I usually takes these guys a few years to acclimate to the travel and the tracks and the bikes. Sure Rossi is exceptional, maybe the best and few have stood toe-toe with him and beat him, Nicky included.

If Nicky did win this years championship, it would be not in dominating style by any measure. He has had his chances and not taken advantage. But it does not mean I do not root for him nor against Rossi.

If your question of "am I a two wheel man" means do I ride motorcycles, the answer is yes and no. I rode 10+ years with a bike being my main source of transportation but right now my 911 is my choice.

I only ask bacause I don't feel a person can fully understand motorcycle riding unless thay are a rider. Even more so with racing. Two wheeled or four wheeled. Threshold braking in a car is alot different than on a bike. Here I think Pedrosa got a little over excited in the early goings and before he realized it, he was in too deep, literally. I don't think I would judge him overall because of this. He is fast. That's clear. Honda hired him.
Here's a question for you. If you were riding for the championship, would you want Honda or Yamaha under you?

As a side note, I think Porsches go well with motorcyles. I don't ride nearly as much as I'm wiser and I get more out of a car now. But I will tell you all my Porsches and Ducatis are air and oil cooled.

Pedrosa has been riding over his head since he left the 250's. The kid is fast, no doubt about it but he doesn't yet have the brains or skills to brake deep into the corners on the big bike. Furthermore , with his team mate being so close the crown he should NOT have beeen dogging Nicky like that.

I think DP was pissed that Nicky bumped him when Nicky passed him on the previous lap and was riding in a red mist.

Pedrosa has showed flashes of brilliance and will be a MotoGP World Champion soon enough, but there was no excuse for the move he pulled. It was an embarrasment for himself, the Repsol team and Honda.

Colin Edwards rode the way a teammate should, he was in position to help Rossi get away early, but Rossi couldn't capitialize.

How about Stoner (can you say aggressive youngster?) washing out his front end and collecting Gibernau? Reports today are that the new plate on Sete's collarbone is tweaked....That poor b@st@rd has had one miserable season.

Valencia should be pretty interesting....

Well, this incident caused Nicky to not finish the race. He came into the race 12 points ahead of Rossi, and leaves 8 points behind. Plus, Rossi should have been penalized for passing illegally on Phillip Island under a yellow flag. A ten second penalty would have resulted in him having 7 points less there. Rossi is the better rider, no doubt. He's in contention with 2 races he didn't finish due to mechanical issues, and a 1 point race due to a collision from behind. Nicky should have come into Estoril with a 19 point lead. Now he's leaving it with an 8 point deficit.

Kinda' off the topic but what ever happened to Max Biaggi? I always thought he was entertaining.

I believe the general story was that Biagi was going to make a move to Camel Honda but he had some unpleasant things to say about HRC, the bikes and the engineers and HRC basically said he was not welcome to ride a Honda in MotoGP.

He was then supposed to make a move to World Superbike, but that didn't happen. I think he signed a deal for a Superbike ride for '07.

Speaking of World Superbike - how about Bayliss this year? From struggling in MotoGP last year to pretty much dominating Superbike this year....
