John Mayer's New Album: Continuum

Any other Mayer fans in here? Just got the new album and wow, it's totally different than anything he is done so far. First Trio which is totally blues and Continuum which is a chill album. It's awesome how he can redefine himself with each new album he has. Anyone who hasn't seen him live and plays guitar you have to check him out, reminds me of SRV. KILLER guitarist.

Not a John Mayer fan per se, but the wife bought the Trio album and I have to admit, it is really good. He is an excellent guitarist. I thought he was wasting his talent on his previous soft-pop offerings...

I had no idea what an awesome guitar player he is until my Tivo hoovered up an Austin Cityy Limits with him and Buddy Guy - SRV indeed! Wow!

I've been toying with the idea of purchasing one of his albums for my collection. I didn't really take him seriously at first, but many of his songs are quite good. Got to give credit where credit is due. In short, I guess I'd consider him a "guilty pleasure" of mine. I guess it's time to step it up with a purchase!

I'll buy his new songs on iTunes. I've liked his stuff for a while now.

One of the best tributes to SRV ever was John Mayer in an interview. He was talking about how a lot of people, including himself, try to emulate SRV. Then he starts laughing saying how when he does that, he CAN sound like SRV, for about 15 seconds, then he is spent for the day :)
