Please explain to me why ...

...in almost every American TV drama series the last twenty years they either drive an old Volvo or a Jeep Cherokee.

OK, I am bored. But still..

... because Volvo and Jeep pays??

Not sure .... you are really bored Markus. It is Friday night (Early Saturday for you now) ... go have some adult beverage!!!

Product placement is a Big deal in Hollyweird moneywise. For example, a camera shot in a movie or TV of an open refrigerator with a Coors beer is worth some bucks from Coors. Happens all the time.

But in those cases, it may be because they both have a "timeless" and generic look. You'd be hard pressed to tell one year from another quickly. Would keep the show from looking dated in reruns. Just a guess.

We get cars for free for our TV shows, and advertising money. Mostly Daimler/Chrysler for our shows that are supposed to be in foreign countries, like with the now canceled "Alias" , but a strong Ford tie in for domestic. Also, we get cheap and put out a casting call for extras with say "Eurpoean-newer cars", and they get a few bucks extra for bringing their cars to do a driveby.

You mean like the episode when Vaugn said "there, the F150!" and pointed to it before they gave chase through the parking garage, or when the camera zoomed in on the back corner of blue hatchback and it filled the screen with the "Focus SVT" logo?

GAY.

I was bored, as I had the night watch at work. One of those very rare moments where the are no patients.
