This reminds me of something that occured to me after watching someone weave through traffic like an as$ one day. It occured to me that maybe he had somewhere VERY important to be. By important I mean like life or death, not late for bowling league. Before flying off the handle, which I am as guilty of as the next guy, I try to have restraint and allow that maybe something more than is obvious is going on. It would be just my luck to lose it on some fool and "jam" him only to find out he missed his last opportunity to see a loved one because of me.

I guess that puts me in ianc's (aka the baby-killer, speeder, foot in as$ guy :D ) camp. The law is best left enforced by law enforcement. If someone is speeding in your neighborhood-call the cops.

When i lived in a rural area, my son stopped breathing as a result of RSV (a virus). We called 911, it took an ambulance 45 minutes to get there, we were 5 minutes from town. The next time we really, really needed medical help, I said screw the ambulance, they almost let him die last time, I'm a racer, I'm driving. We made a 25 minute drive in 13 minutes. If one of you blockers would have tried to control me, I would have given you a little Nascar bump first, then I would have spun you off the road like the cops do.
Sometimes it really is life and death, you don't know, do you?

Speed bumps. Theres a couple in my residential street, and surely they slow a 911 real good. The problem is, soccer mums in X5s and Landcruisers just sail over them like they werent there. If you make the bumps big enough to slow the SUVs, you would struggle to get some (911) cars over them. As it is, theres a couple in my area I have to almost stop and crawl over on the diagonal.

I actually got overtaken over ane of these bumps in my 25mph posted street by a woman in a large SUV who didnt even back off for the bump. 200 yards down the road- at the stop sign-I got out of my car to have chat with her. She was justified in driving like that in my street where my kids live because little Xavier and Jacinta were late for school.

Hate to genralise, but the soccer mum in the large SUV with kids on board around school drop and pickup time is far ansd away the most dangerous and inconsiderate thing on the road.

Ive been in the same situation myself, and I agree.

But- it generally isnt. Its generally just someone being a prick.

dont fool yourself...........THOSE AINT BAJA MEXICO SPEEDBUMPS W/METAL DISCS PLANTED ON TOP OF CONE PIECE OF CONCRETE! they will slow anything down! ANYTHING! when they say slow. THEY MEAN SLOW! or replace your entire suspension. cheap to make, believe me. you'll find these at checkpoints manned by MILITARS and toll roads. very effective and dirt cheap.
