But yes, I'm talking about fully elective. No medical or any other problems. The rule would apply as equally to a rape victim as to a woman who just changes her mind out of convenience or because she decides the baby will cramp her style.

Completely unrestricted, no questions asked.

(and yes, it is of course medically possible to abort on the last day).

i respectfullly disagree
if a healthy baby , is killed the day before birth
then i do not consider it abortion, because that baby can be born naturally , and survive m unlike for instance a 1 month old fetus, who would not be viable

to me , abortion, aborting, to abort, means stopping something before it is close to completion
for instance , a pilot can abort a takeoff, if he didn't pass 1/3rd of the run way, is not going to fast, and has enough room to abort
the same pilot cannot abort his take off, if his nose gear is off the ground, and he is 1 second away from lifting his main gear off hte ground, with just 1/5th of the run way left...

in your example, with no medical reason , the baby can easely survive, and i would not call it abortion , but murder
no different from a mother that gives birth, and then dumps the baby in a plastic bag, and tosses the bag in a river....

if the mother, at that stage doesn't want the baby , well , give birth and give it up for adoption...enough folks who do want a child, but can't...

I think there should be unfettered access to aborting hot button issues, especially in the run up to an election.

This republican lawyer and I were having a good laugh this week. We were talking about these goofy ads on TV. There was one where it was the country election....and the ad states that his opponent is FOR abortion (in an evil voice).....

My friend was saying WTH does abortion have to do with a country election? It's a USSC issue anyway....but a COUNTY position?

All we want to hear around here is why I should vote for you. What are you going to do if we elect you.....it's out of control here anymore. Based on the "advertisements" I cannot tell you one thing any of these politicians intend to do for us around here. All I can discern is that Melissa Bean is a "Pelosi wannabe" (I swear, that's what the tv spot says) and Duckworth doesn't want our families safe.

Are your election ads out of control too?

In DC, we have the, ahem, fortune to see VA and MD ads on local TV. Ack! Maybe I shouldn't b!tch about "taxation without representation" afterall.

There is an initiative on the ballot here in Oregon. It has Planned Parenthood in an uproar...they saying a "woman" has a right to choose. The initiative? Requires that parents be informed if a child under the age of 18 is going to have an abortion...a 48 hours notice. Note, this doesn't require parental consent for the abortion..just that the parents of the girl be given notice. Under current Oregon law, teen girls get excused from school to go to the abortion clinic, have the abortion, parents left in the dark.

I have mixed feelings on the topic. But you should all have the chance to work with the welfare crowd for a few years as I did. What your opinion on the topic would be might be affected by your experiences there.

Interesting, 75% against.

Reminds me of an old joke.

Kid asks his father about the concept of appearance vs reality. Could not get past the problem in school that day.

Father says son, go ask your sister if she would sleep with someone for $500,000. Son returns and says she had said "yes"

Father says okay son, go ask your mother the same question. Son returns and tells dad his mom said the same thing as sister.

Father says, now son the appearance is that we are sitting on a million bucks, but the reality of it is that we live with a couple of whores.

How does this relate, it is all a matter of degree. If it is wrong the day before birth, where do you draw the line?

Marv, I agree.

Wait until your world is filled with unwanted and unloved children.
