I see a lot of families struggling to keep pace. At some point they will reevaluate their need for the new car, plasma TV and 4,000 square foot house.
The effects of the "day care" era are indeed showing up. And it's not good.

I likely won't own another home unless I move to a very cheap area (unless the RE market seriously crashes). And I don't have a "home theater" system...just the speakers on the 26". Or any other appliances (haven't bought any music gear in about 6 years). Also thinking of ditching the new VW for a used car with no payment...have to ponder that. My one bad habit is my track car, but even that is done on a budget (have to save up for an engine rebuild).
And I make good money. But I also have very little debt. I've never understood the McMansion thing...
