I need to hire a software / website designer

I thought I would look to Pelican first.

I need to develop some video software for online play similar to You tube or streetfire.

I need to integrate it into my website, it will be small at first but as time goes there could possibly be many videos on there.

Anyone interested in this project?

Or can you recomend a company or designer that is good and can make this happen?

What are you trying to accomplish? Are wanting users to be able to upload their own videos? Or simply stream your own content?

The 'video play' bit is actually handled by the browser; YouTube's genius was in simplifying the upload and play portion of it by converting videos to Flash.

I know that $1.5B price tag was breathtaking, but the market is getting crowded already. And yes, there's already a pr0n version of youtube.

Stream my own content for my clients.

So user uploads are not needed just the ability to search the videos for what your looking for using key words.

BTW - I am not trying to be a You Tube or Streetfire, I was just using them as an example. Its pretty easy to search them for a particular video. That is what I am after.

Easy to do. Just need a streaming media server (Darwin Streaming Server is from Apple and is both free and Free), and some method of indexing movies so if you search for foo you get movies about foo. Simple script, simple database table to hold it. Drop me an email if you want...

Ok, so you just need a very simple DB of content and keywords and an i/f to search it. Me, personally, would use Perl and MySQL

Oh, and bandwidth - how big are these videos?

Do you really think people will pay to see your wedding night tape?

Jim,

I'll do it for you. I don't know anything about software, web designing or even computers but I'll do the best I can.

it's free but it sucks.

I'm not certain if there are others but the one I got redirected to was "p0rn0tube" dot com.

I think if you did a video search on yahoo or google, you'd have better results.

...I'm not sure if I should be proud or disgusted that I know that...

Your hired!! LOL!!

Unfortunatly I am not starting a Pron site. Still interested?

As we are fighting to get this off the ground we are wondering if a no brainer pron site is a better bet.

Once I am incorporated and have everything up and running I disclose more info. But for right now I have to keep my keyboard locked.

Thanks for the responses.

I have a good friend who has done a few sites for me from scratch (the car club one is pretty darn complicated):

www.infiniticarclub.org

www.cameomfg.com

He owns his own company with several designers. He is really good - but not really cheap.

PM me and I will give you his contact info.

hey! ask Richard "motion"

Jims5543 10-24-2006 04:21 PM

I actually got a fellow Florida Pelican to work on it. I am glad to be able to hire someone off this board to help.
