USC's worst nightmare
I can't believe this...just turned on the radio to see how badly lopsided the score was. 3rd quarter nearing it's end...the score?
33-17. The Oregon State University "Meager Beavers" playing number 2 USC? If this keeps up, it will be the college football upset of the week. Pete Carrol (sp?) must be thinking he's having a nightmare, he can't wake up, and it only gets worse? I'm NOT holding my breath, BTW...In typical fashion, the Beavers are capable of blowing the 16 point lead... |
I am not watching it on tv, but the espn gamecast puts up all the stats.
As of 5:23 left in the 4th. First downs: USC-19 Oregon-14 Total Yards USC-409 Oregon-322 USC should be winning, they just got lucky that Oregon just missed that FG attempt too. edit...Just found out the scoring difference. Turnovers USC-4 Oregon-0 That hurts |
Two teams in Oregon...this is the Oregon State University BEAVERS who are currently still ahead of USC...You're thinking of the Oregon Ducks, who used to be nationally ranked. The Beavers were ranked so far down, they were never mentioned on the broadcasts... 2:47 left...stay tuned. Like I said...

nah I knew it was the beavers, and I do know what there are capable of. Three years they came to LSU for the first game of the year. Almost beat us, and we were ranked like 5 or something. Good upset team.
|
congrats pwd, but u guys came REALLY CLOSE!
|
They pulled off the upset. Final score:
OSU Beavers: 33 USC Trojans: 31 USC's 27 game conference winning streak just got snapped... Amazing stuff....The beavers team that frightened LSU was, IMO, a much better team than the team of today. But, a win is a win. You can betcher biffy USC is going to take a tumble in the rankings... |
My two favorite teams:
1) UCLA 2) Whomever is playing USC Go Beavers! |

37-15 to WA. State. Third loss in a row. Fourth this season. Don't you hate line spaces between sentences? Line spaces tend to emphasize the points made in the writing. Don't they? SmileWavy |
The thing is.
UCLA's losses in fact help the program, in the long run. Just like USC's losses under its prior coach helped them. And UCLA Basketball's losses under Steve Lavin helped them. The sooner the program bottoms out under Karl Dorrell, and he is dismissed and replaced with a legitmate D1 head coach, the better. Like surgery, sometimes you have to endure some pain before you can truly begin healing. USC's loss, on the other hand, does nothing except ruin their season. |

Went to the UCLA game today, their defense was week, it was a passing game, not a running game for both teams. Wifey went to UCLA.

the: that is an awesome pic of Death Valley man. Wish I could sleep there. Its beautiful man.

Texas Tech almost took out Texas last night too. They had the game in hand and let Texas get back in with turnovers. There was a very poor pass interference call at the end that game Texas a vital 1st down, but Tech should have closed that game out.
How bout my Fightin Texas Aggies!! Took down the formidable Baylor Bears last night, 31-21. For those who don't know Texas football, Baylor could easily own any 2A high school team out there... I fear my Ags will meet reality next week vs. OU. |

The Beavers beating USC really helps the Boise State Broncos - they creamed Oregon State earlier this year. Boise States RB Ian Johnson scored 5 TD's against those guys.
Also, Texas Tech also helps. TCU beat Tech, and then TCU was beaten by a Team Boise also creamed - Utah. Boise State will shortly be a top ten team. I have been saying all season Boise could wax USC. The Oregon State win begins to back that up. |
The Beavers were all over the Trojans yesterday.

USC could still go to a Nat'l Championship. UCLA can not. And Dorrell is a legitimate coach. Or did UCLA's successes last year mean nothing? |
No, USC's season is done, you can take that to the bank.
Even if they were to win out, they aren't one of the top 2 teams in the country. Too many close wins in an easy schedule. Dorrell is not a legit coach. He has never had any real demonstrated success as a head coach. All of his season have pretty much sucked, with no real improvement (in fact, probably getting worse). UCLA's success last year isn't that meaningful. It lost to most of the decent teams it played, got spanked hard a couple of times, and had to rely on countless, fortuitous come from behind wins. It was a fluke season, as his prior seasons, and successor season, have shown. But, I'm sure most USC fans feel Dorrell is an EXCELLENT coach and have nothing but love for him. Just like I thought Paul Hackett was an EXCELLENT coach. |
