Would you get involved?

About 12 years ago a coupla blocks down from me a girl (17) decided to help out a classmate who had been kicked outa the house. They decided to let him stay for awhile. One day he stabbed the girl to death, waited four hours in the closet for the Mom to come home and stabbed her to death to. Dad was away on a bizness trip when it happened.

Too bad your wife's boy (is that another way of saying your stepson??) hangs out with people like that.

If I were your wife and you, I'd be more concerned about that, than the the fast food employee.

I think I'd let it go. The employee or restaurant isn't likely to do anything, and if they do, (1) it doesn't seem likely that anyone would ultimately get prosecuted for anything so it's a waste of time, and (2) it won't be difficult for this punk to figure out who ratted him out.

The challenge of a temperate society. The kid will end up in the pen, too bad several will suffer until then...

Maybe there is a bleeding heart democrat that will take him in?

The Kid has anger managment problems by the spitting. The fact that he is tranisient shows he doesn't have any stabilty and the fact that he uses up his welcome shows he doesn't care about his friends..

Everything centers around him (everybody is to blame but me, they should understand me) and when things don't go his way he becomes fustrated and angry. He acts impulsivily without knowing why.

He could be very dangerous...If he is a talker and vents his anger then is is less dangerous, but if he gets quiet and sullen then I would start to watch out....

I wouldn't bother. I assume if the victim wanted to do anything (with managments help i would hope) then there is probably cctv that recorded it....if they act quick (some places loop a 1 hr tape)

It's too "after the fact" so I'd leave it alone but make sure jerk doesn't come anywhere near the house. If he does act up when you're around, do "something" then but be careful. You ain't as young as you used to be. When I was in my early twenties, I was mean sonofagun.

something about being spit upon would unleash a blind fury. maybe i am just a germ freak. if i was the person spit on, i would do something.
but in your situation, i would let it go. your stepkid seems to know that it was wrong, and that seems like it is enough for me.

i was kind of a jerk tonite......was in a pissy mood and had to goto the supermarket for a few things....clerk rings up sale, i pay with my atm card, select "no cash back" and the clerk handed me cash back.....(my bank charges me $5.00 for a cashback transaction)
i ask why and she realized she made the mistake, she calls manager and manager tells me there is nothing she could do, i told the manager that's becasue the $5 isn't coming out of her account.....picked up my reciept and "cash back" and left.
i probably made the clerk girl feel bad, which sucks....didn't mean to just one of those days.....

as far as the kid on the couch, i knew a few like that growing up, when their "circle" of friends is depleted they will steal what they can and move on to the next circle.....seen it a bunch of times, don't let the kid near your home....if he hasn't really hung out with your wifes son yet but knows him and they're in the same circle then i would expect your wifes son to be a future couch provider unless he knows better.

good luck
