can acryllic plastic be reshaped

they gave me a "thanks for 5 years slavery" square obelisk
it's see through acryllic, and embedded in the plastic is the name of our company and a big 5

it's about 10cm high , 5 x 5 square across

now i've been thinking , the place , is becoming really a pain in the ass.. the obelisk itself , for 5 years of my life, is a bit lame
it's only marginally better then a t-shirt with "5 years of my life and all i got was a stupid t-shirt"

does anyone know if it is possible to reshape acryllic plastic
file or sand it , and then either heat or polish afterwards so it stays translucent?

want to reshape it into a butt plug that retains the original embedded message

company is a pain in the ass, 5 year award made to look like a butt plug

i'm sure it would make a killer joke if it can be done, and that think sits on my desk with that message embedded

any ideas if this can be done?

widebody911 11-01-2006 05:49 AM

Yes, it's very pliable with heat.

svandamme 11-01-2006 06:07 AM

pliable maybe , but can i take chunks off, and make a square block smaller and rounder??

it's a 10 inch obelisk , and it has to transform to a butt plug...
that's not plying ... that's sculpting

and are there any sculpurs on the OT who could sculpt it for me??
i'm no good myself... couldn't sculpt nothing if my life depended on it

i'de post a pic, but i wouldn't want the name of the company on the net.. you never know it get's around and people in corporate get nasty over it

What Thom said.

If you heat it too much, dissolved gasses will start to bubble and it won't stay clear.

I would recommend heating it it boiling water and seeing if that is enough heat to work it.

I'm not here to judge but, there are plenty of sex shops in Rotterdam.

Be sure to use lube

yeah , but it's not to be used
it's a practical joke @ work

i want to transform the 5 year award
not have a regular Plug...

i don't think any shops sell a BP , with the 5 year award text from my company embedded in clear acryllic

You could use a lathe to remove some material, then polish it out again.

I'd recommend buying a similar chunk from TAP or a similar vendor and experimenting.

One option might be to rig something to hold it on each end, and gently twist it while heating it, which should give you the effect you're looking for. TAP (and others) sell special heating element strips specifically for forming this stuff.

Thom, so it will polish out after it was ruffed up or carved up?

thinking up schemes, pranks and tricks is never a waste of time
