What can you tell me about the MB 500SL?
 

I'm looking at the MB 500 SL series car as a commuting car. There seems there are plenty on the market in the 4-5 year old range with low miles. The AMG Sport package are particularly attractive. Does anyone have experience with these cars?

unlike the first batch [post 450 era]

~15mpg city driving, 25mpg hwy

Ever consider one of these? I really dig them and they seem to be priced reasonably (~$20k). Too bad they don't come with manual transmissions.

Built like a tank, rides like a truck on anything other than a interstate. Completely different car with the hardtop on.
Can be expensive to repair.
Trade in on CLS550. Now that is a sweet car.
