Question on trade-in at the dealer
Has anyone ever successfully traded in their car for a cheaper new car at a dealership ?
Get them to cut you a check, in other words ? Does that even happen or do they laugh you off the lot ? |

Dealers pay wholesale for trades and sell your purchase at retail.
Lets say delta between retail and wholesale is 30% 100 retail trade=70 wholesale 50 trade=45 wholesale You do the rest of the math. Had a friend trade an E55 for a Boxter, he got a check back but the dealer did much better than he did.
