Wow. I am sure many family reunions from now if they live that long, it will be a great conversation piece. LOL |

priceless... My first time in a manual car(Porsche no less) was at 14 too... I went screaching towads a curb on my first start, but fortunately I knew enough to put both the clutch and brake in to stop. I then let the hill roll it back, pointed it straight, and that time, I started without enough throttle, stalled it. Third start, brilliantly smooth, and I've enjoyed a manual ever since. |

priceless... i really do not understand how folks don't erase certain embarrasing tapes...or at the very least lock the buggers so they don't get out in the wild... |

The outer limits of human stupidity never cease to amaze me, (putting your little boy who likes to start cars and rev them in the driver's seat w/ key in ignition), lucky he didn't run someone over in front of him. It shows you why a 100% original, no paint work sports car is so valuable; some of the geniuses who buy them can't even get home from the dealership w/o a stop at the body shop. Think I'm exaggerating? Stop by any high-end auto body shop and check out the brand new go-fast cars balled-up. |

I wonder how that got reported to insurance? |

When I was 14, my dad was just about trading in his slightly massaged 240Z for a new V-12 XKE roadster w/ a 4-speed. I was already enough of a car fanatic to know how a clutch worked, (riding dirt bikes already), but the idea of damaging his new car gives me chills to this day. I used to ask him why I couldn't drive it, he would reply that he "didn't believe in child-abuse, and if I wrecked his car, (he) would have to take a Louisville Slugger to me...." :D :D |

I first started learning to drive around 10 by shifting in the 356 from the passenger seat, by watching dad's feet and listening to the engine. I first got to drive it when I was 13, on a small square track, never even getting into 3rd gear. Too afraid of trashing a great car in the case of both the 356 and 911. |
