Geez, you guys need to get a grip, and a drink if you like. Bar's still open. :)

Scooter 11-05-2006 09:26 AM

Two things I can't wait for:

1) The new separate political/religious forum
2) Moderators to do their job and start banning or suspending those individuals who violate the rules by the lack of mutual respect.

Joe, that is probably the most intelligent thing said on this board all year

It has been said before....many, many times.

That's a fantastic analogy, Mark. Fits perfectly.

Yet it's regularly forgotten/ignored by a select few here.

Yes.

Arguing politics is like mud wrestling a pig....you'll never win and you'll suddenly realize that the dirty rotten scurvy douchebag....errr umm, pig....likes it.....

the 11-05-2006 12:43 PM

Some of ya'll really, really, REALLY need to get a life.

Your priorities are all out of whack. If you could see yourself from the eyes of an outsider/newbie, you'd see how ridiculous you look. This is an car parts board, not the floor of the Senate or the Supreme Court. Those that are fighting 24/7 to "win" arguments here - you're not coming across as a "winner" in anyone's eyes except maybe your own.

But this exact same thing is repeated on countless OT boards throughout cyberspace - exact same arguments, by the same type of fanatics/Internet addicts, only the board and screen names are different.

Get a grip, go for a reality check, try to objectively look at the amount of time and emotional energy you are spending here.

The House and perhaps the Senate are about to turn, so people do indeed change their minds.

Even here on PPOT they change their minds. Posters that were calling others traitors a year ago for opposing the war now grudgingly admit that the war was a mistake.

So there is hope amid the carnage.

Moneyguy1 11-05-2006 03:59 PM

I think it is important to opine on social/political issues. Unless you know what drives other people, you never know the whole story.

Interesting that there are those on both extremes that claim the other extreme monopolizes the threads, but cannot what they are doing because they are too wrapped up in their own points of view to even consider that of others.

So what is your point exactly? You do have a point right? Let me guess, your line is something like "hypocritical Christian republicans".

Do a few things for me real quick.

1. Ask yourself how many Christians or Republicans have defended these actions?
2. Ask yourself how long it too for the Church to remove him from leadership?
3. Explain to me why you are trying to portray everyone who claims to be a Christian as being party to the actions of one.

Joe Bob 11-05-2006 04:24 PM

I have NO point...I'm just shiiting in a crappy thread.....take a chill pill, beeyotch....

Moneyguy1 11-05-2006 04:30 PM

tobster:

Your questions are interesting.

Personally, I see this incident almost as a parable on what happens when an individual puts themselvs on a pedestal as a paragon of virtue. The way the congregation handled the situation I think, was done very well. We will always have the "PTL Club" mindset of a few, but as long as we have the ability to understand that people are flawed and can fall from grace, but does not reflect the community as a whole.

No, the Moderators do not sell parts CC; their purpose is to moderate this forum. Please check your facts before you try to tell me I am wrong.

Moneyguy1 11-05-2006 08:45 PM

Scooter is never wrong, C.C.

It is about time you recognized that fact.

Get with the program.

Money, are you saying that I am wrong? Yeah, I didn't think so.

Moneyguy1 11-05-2006 08:59 PM

Scootee:

I would NEVER accuse you of being wrong.

How could I?

Your self assurance obviously precludes any propensity of error on your part.

I bow to your superior intellect.

BTW...Loosen up a bit...you take yourself FAR too seriously....

Scooter 11-05-2006 09:40 PM

Thank you Moneyguy1.

Moneyguy1 11-05-2006 10:03 PM

You are entirely welcome!!!

Seriously!!

nostatic 11-05-2006 10:08 PM

The way I look at it is like this. There is nothing wrong with a political topic. The only problem is, certain people on here obsess on it. ( this goes for both sides) For example, look at the time and days of alot of the political posts. Sat and Sun , during the middle of the day. Rather than sit on here constantly and piss and rant about how this politician sucks and this country is horrible. etc, etc. You should be enjoying your day off.
Get out of the house, play with your kids. Rake leaves, let them jump in the leaf pile. Spend time with your family or friends. Enjoy the outdoors. Go fishing, hiking, go for a drive. Work on your house. Work on your car. Sit back on the couch, enjoy some music. Enjoy your hobbies. So on and so on.....

Plain and simple there is way too much else in life than spending all your time crying on this BBS.

Thats why you guys have not seen me on the OT political scene. These three main posters are not worth my wasting my time on and would rather use it productively.

No, it's way too much fun watching you sociofascist neo-cons justify the Bush'ist cult-like agnda in response to my, and others, posts to quit.

Any new Bush'ist Ju-Ju to lay on us, genius?

Nathans_Dad 11-06-2006 02:33 PM

Pat, amazing that you try and bring politics into a moratorium on political threads thread. Have you no shame?

P.S. Is anyone planning on making a commerative t-shirt? You know, only for the members of the socio-fascist neocon Bush'ist junta? Something like "I had to put up with Pastes Bull***** for 6 months and all I got was this crappy tshirt!!" Just a thought.

Politics during elections? The horror!

cool_chick 11-07-2006 01:48 AM

Ok, today's election day.

One more month to go to deal with the braggarts, whomever that will be tomorrow......

Just gotta get through one more month...

If the Dems take either or both houses of congress, little will change. A fasttracked impeachment is unlike ly.

When Hillary is elected in 2008, I'll be the first to discuss how bad she is.
