Guys this isnt a question it is more of a statement. We did.

Since I live in Houston now, I work at space center houston and give tours of mission control and the astronaut training facility all day. Yes, I get to see some pretty neat stuff.

Here's the problem. And, it just ticks me off everytime I hear it. Sorry if I offend anyone on this board, but it always seems to be foreigners who ask me.

Does anyone on this board not believe that the United States landed on the moon for Apollo, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, and 17?

The bigger and more rediculous the conspiracy theory, the more some people want to believe it.

Can you imagine the number of people that would have to go along with such a conspiracy and how unlikely it would be to happen and continue for all thses years.

Of course we went to the moon.

And, oh by the way, Bush did not destroy the World Trade Center with planted thermite charges.

It was all done with special effects on a Hollywood sound stage, don't cha know!

What was the name of that movie with OJ as an astronaut where a Mars mission was filmed on a sound studio because it didn't happen and at the end the Govt was going to kill off the astronauts and claim they died on re-entry?

Sam Waterston too. I remember the scene where he's climbing the hill slowly telling a joke, then when he gets to the top the black helicopter is waiting for him.

That wasn't Waterston, was it? I thought it was OJ who climbed the hill to meet the black helicopters.

You know what bugged the crap out of me with that flick?

1) James Brolin can't act.

2) Fly the freakin' Lear Jet to a populated area where you can crash land. They had enough gas.

Why have we not bothered to go back since the Apollo missions?

Did any other country's program make it there?

Ok I am not really sure, but I am almost positive Russia has landed there. They sent drones only though, not humans.

After we were finished with Apollo the government decided they wanted to test the affects of zero g on the human body. You might remember that a Saturn V rocket, the same rocket that sent man to the moon also put skylab in orbit.

Now that we have a very good grasp of what happens to the human body with information from the russians from Mir, and our own collaborative effort with the Internation Space Station we are extending our arms. The shuttle is going to be phased out by 2010-2015.

The succesor to the shuttle orbiter will look at lot like the saturn V just a lot smaller. The Saturn V was meant to go very long distances.

Yep, Russians landed on the Moon, but no humans. I think the Apollo program died out because public interest waned and Congress couldn't justify the massive budgets that were required to keep it going.

I think Space Station has been a waste of money (even though some of the stuff I designed is up there on it) because we really haven't learned anything that we weren't learning already from Mir and Spacelab. Spacelab was retired long before it's day due to SS funding problems and SS has never realized it's capabilities due to NASA's inability to manage their money.

2010 is supposedly the end for the Shuttles. I hate to seem them go.

Too bad we lost the CEV competition - I would have loved to work on that.

Capricorn One - didn't the unmanned capsule sent to space burn up on re-entry, hence the reason the govmnt had to kill off the astronauts "that went to Mars" for the scam to work?

it was all done by mirrors in meteor crater,az.! the mirrors were so big, that they had to move them at night to mt graham,az. those mirrors are now used for the popes telescope up there! come on ................you should know that!

Some folks have trouble with reality and therefore are much more comfortable with believing in a conspiracy. We have a few of those tin-foil hat wearing mel gibson wannabe's on this board.

Which is the 4S building? I mainly work in 30S, 30N, and 9NW. I wonder if I have seen some of the stuff you have been designing over there. Anyone remember th X-38 project from a few years back? I got to check it out on a personal tour. That thing is awesome! I also got to sit on the new Lunar rover that nasa is designing. It is one of the most high tech things I have ever seen.

I watched the Discovery channel special about the moon landing conspiracy theory. The funny part was that the guy that was promoting the conspiracy theory was living in a trailer in the desert with a '76 Mercury sitting out front. Every "proof" that he gave for why it was fake was simple to reason through. They then had some guy prove him wrong.

I have no doubt that the govt does stuff that they don't tell us about and does stuff to mislead the public so we don't know the truth about everything. I think that there are probably lots of times that it's appropriate and probably some times when it's not, but I think people are crazy to believe that we didn't go to the moon.

I've always believed that we landed on the moon. But until today, I thought we only did it once. Seriously.

But I checked it out, and indeed, there were 6 moon landings!

I think the moon landings took place.

I believe there was a James Bond movie where Sean Connery crashes onto a "Moon landscape" set when pursued by the bad guys. I think that was also a nudge at the conspiracy theorists...

I believe the moon projects had a lot to do with the "Space Race" against the Soviets. Who got to the moon first meant alot in the world political atmosphere at the time.

Well, I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn last night, but I did work at Space Camp one year....Mercury team leader.

We did go to the moon, but once we discovered it wasn't really made of cheese we had no reason to go back. :)

The public has lost interest in the space program and we'd rather stay on earth and handle local affairs. I really wish we had more interest in exploring our universe. There's some really cool stuff out there and some extra cool technology that would be developed on the way.

I think the Fuchs look good on the lunar rover. I'm just glad you didn't put Dubs with spinners.
