So the average American is a single, unemployed, couch riding, crackhead?

No, but virtually every one of them is a socialist....errr....democrat. ;)

Years ago a guy told me he didn't vote. I asked why.
"The last time I voted, it was for Nixon. I figured if I couldn't do any better than that, I should quit."

Very stupid, arrogant post Pat.

HardDrive, I couldn't agree more. My only comment is that voting isn't an obligation, its a privilege. One that people in other countries routinely die for.

I don't care if your vote agrees with mine or not (Okay, I DO care, but that's not the point). Exercise your right to vote (not you HardDrive) or SHUT THE HELL UP with the things that are happening in YOUR government that you don't like. Its simple: Make an effort to be part of the solution or Keep being part of the problem!

(I am sure I'll get reamed for voicing that last statement...and of course FastPat will tell us how its not His government, meanwhile back here in the 21st century...:D )

lendaddy 11-07-2006 10:38 AM

I firmly support Pat in his decision to not vote.

pwd72s 11-07-2006 10:40 AM

I don't vote. I'm convinced that Oregon's vote by mail process is fraudulant...meaning, yes, I do believe elections here are rigged.
Why should I lend legitimacy to fraud by casing a vote? I don't play 3 card Monte on street corners, either...

Tervuren 11-07-2006 10:51 AM

Pat - consider your state ammendments. Take a look, I'd for sure vote on those bud. Allowing the senate to take a thirty day vacation from making laws? Dissallowing confistication of property for economic gain... Go vote pat on the state ammendments if you have time left.

I know NOTHING about Oregon's voting laws, but can't you still get your butt up and GO TO the voting booth? Do you HAVE to vote by mail? If not then why would you give up your right to vote?

So other nitwits can dispense bad advice on Porsche discussion forums i guess. Or maybe it was for the 1st rate pay that i did it... ;)

I'd expect you did it because you were either a victim of government military slavery, or if not, then you were a US government mercenary.

Neither is related to voting or not voting.

LOL!!!!!!!!

Actually it was a deep seeded hatred for Communism, and their pesky tendency to point thermonuclear missiles at us by the thousands.

Were you off the breast milk yet back in those days to fully appreciate the national mood fella?

Ignoring your childish response.

My military service began in 1967; yours....?

I guess the obvious question your response also begs; did your hatred produce results?

m21sniper 11-07-2006 11:16 PM

Are you saying i was wrong to hate the godless communist heathens?

And since you've alluded to your service, please characterize it at this time.

I'll even go first:

Corporal, US Army Infantry. 11B, 11C secondary, B4 ASI(Sniper), 4th Bn, 31st Infantry(Mechanized). ETS'd in 1990...just after i got back from Panama.

Your turn General. :)

Began in 1967, ended (active reserve) in 2003.

You didn't answer the question, and I don't care what you did while you were serving, at least in this thread.

You asserted that you had some sort of insight based on your service being some time ago. Let's hear why.

Thank you for hoping for the downfall of my country.

Thank you for hoping that the world's best system of government, the best of an imperfect set of systems, will fail.

I so respect you for your firm stand against my family, my community, and my country, Pat.

When an election is rigged Dan, all votes become worthless, because the results have been predetermined. I had to go through more paperwork to get my name removed from the voter's list than it is for an illegal alien to register. It's my firm belief that Oregon elections are rigged. And yes, there are no voting booths in Oregon. All ballots are mailed out. The sucker, er "voter" then mails them back in...or, drops them off at various collection points. As long as Oregon operates this way, and the power structure sees no reason to change, I'll never vote again.

America was never intended, except by the Hamiltonians, socialists, and communists, to be a Democracy. The degree to which Democracy has made inroads in American government is the degree to which the country has been destroyed by its' government.

The US government has never been the "best" of all possible governments; any notion that it is or was is based on ignorance, or arrogance.

America is my country, and apparently not yours. Go back to your country, or stay in it if you're there now.

O.K. Pat - learn us a little. What was it supposed to be and when did it go wrong?

(I mean after Hamilton got off the boat.)

Not being adversarial here, I am asking: What makes you so certain that elections are being routinely "rigged". Do you have any facts or are you just unhappy with the results of elections that do not happen to agree with your point of view and so they must have been rigged?

No, your country is that place with no highways, Internet, or military. But thanks for playing.
