Do any of you "liberals' feel manipulated?
A year or so ago, a message from al-Queda in Iraq was intercepted that explains their strategy for getting the US to lose its will and leave Iraq: escalate the violence.
So these foreign fighters bomb the Golden Mosque and sectarian violence and retaliation ensues. Right on cue, the American media features these car bombings and death squad homicides on the front page for months. Americans vote to change the course in Iraq. "The American people have put their feet on the right path by ... realizing their president's betrayal in supporting Israel," the leader of al-Qaeda in Iraq said. "So they voted for something reasonable in the last elections." and "Since Washington's hostile and hawkish policies have always been against the Iranian nation, this defeat is actually an obvious victory for the Iranian nation." said Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. "With the scandalous defeat of America's policies in Iraq, Palestine, Lebanon and Afghanistan, America's threats are empty threats on an international scale." Do you liberals realize that you've played right into the hands of our enemies? Does it feel strange that your joy in the election results align perfectly with that of our enemies? If our enemies are wrong, and Democrat victory will actually make us stronger, please let us know how they're wrong. |

I guess if you believe that the efforts of the administration over the past 5 years have been an unmitigated success, then yes, I can understand how you could see us going in the wrong direction.
But let me ask you this: You don't care what France thinks, or Germany, or Canada, or pretty much anybody right? Why would you care what our enemies think of our efforts?

No, I don't believe the Administration has been an unmitigated success. And I believe that the Republican congress deserved to lose -- it's unfortunate the Democrats were the other choice.
And, no, I don't care what France or Germany or Canada think about the US. They are easy to please -- you just have to appear weak. But that pleases our enemies as well.

Do you realize the Iraqi constitution is similar to the Iranian one and those two forged an alliance long ago? That happened already...it's been long over with regard to that....
