So, why the inconsistency?

I know it seems like I am harping on the media today, but I think it is a legitimate question. Why does the more liberal media of the two, claim the Democrats have 49 seats in the Senate, when they do not. The more conservative media of the two have it right...there are two independents in the Senate. Lieberman WAS a Democrat, until he lost the primary and the support of the Democratic Party. It remains to be seen how he will cast his votes in the future. If it were me, I would not want to caucus with a party that threw me away like yesterdays trash.

Edited for grammar

Good point. Liberman was kicked out on his tailside after years of service to the Democratic party, and now they expect him to tow their line? Fat chance. Joes is going to be a powerhouse (he already was.)

He'll tow the line if he wants any gravy and commitee appointments. He's lost his seniority completely, they get to treat him as a freshman senator if they wish.

Lieberman has already stated publically that he'll caucus with the dems. Nothing inconsistent there. The two are just counting the totals differently. Fox is tallying by the letter after the name (D,R,I) and CNN is tallying by caucus.

And now the Fox and CNN websites report the same number of House seats for each party.

Projections, based on what they think will happen.
Obviously Fox news was either slightly behind or more conservative.
