Almost forgot: Austin Marines meeting at North x Northwest tonight at 7pm--spouses welcomed if they can take rude, crude, offensive behavior (and drive home).

Danimal, Seebees are always welcome at ANY USMC gathering--I remember being in the bush in somalia and smack dab in the middle of Baidoa, was a smattering of Seebees with....real washing machines and showers--first fresh laundry we had in...since we got there. Thanks to you guys.

Re: Re: Can Do from the Seabees!!!!

HoltJv,

23 years in the Bees and never Haze Grey and Underway. Only one shore billet, the rest with the FMF. We spent a lot of time with Dog Faces as well as Devil Dogs and our whole mission was to make sure those tired warriors had all the engineering support they needed.

I remember one time down at Talega, we set up our mess and the grunts found out about it. Darn near ate us out of house and home, but thanks to a little comshaw down at Horno, other Marines provided some creative ration assistance. Lets say the ration audit may not have completly ballanced for the S4, but his skippers happy Marines, hopefully calmed his calus supply heart.

I was raised by a three war veteran USMC SGTMJR. Took me awhile to appreciate what he taught until I saw what it represented. He calls me Sir, I call him God.

God Bless every last one of you!

I would congratulate you Marines for 231 years of service, but i don't want to confuse you jarheads with such a big number....so, instead, i'll just ask a simple question.

How did you guys get those round helmets on your square-azz heads....???

LOL, SEMPER FI, DO OR DIE!!!!

From the halls of montezuma, to the shores of tripoli(fading), we will fight our contries battles, on the land and on the sea....

Had a party with a Marine Corps theme Happy Birthday cake for the marines at work. Sang the song.

Recently did the same for the Navy birthday...some chuclehead (AF Base) must have laced the Navy cake with some sort of laxative. Everyone had violent diarrhea...it came out florescent green. Pretty scary at first look. One in every crowd.

Happy Birthday...Semper Fi!

My wishes for a happy birthday too. Jack, thank you for your service. The same goes for every vet who posts here, and I know there are more than a few.

Happy 231st to all you Marines.
The Marine Corps > the wheelhouse of our fighting force.
Thank you for your service!
.

.
~~~~~~~~
.
"The Marine Corps is the only branch of the U. S. Armed Forces that recruits people specifically to fight.
You join the Marine Corps to go to war!
Ask a Marine what’s so special about the Marines and the answer would be, 'Esprit de Corps', an unhelpful French phrase that means exactly what it looks like, the Spirit of the Corps.
All Marines die; some in the red flash of battle, some in the white cold of the nursing home, in the vigor of youth or the infirmity of age, all will eventually die. But the Marine Corps lives on. Every Marine who ever lived is living still in the Marines who claim the title today. It is that sense of belonging to something that will outlive your own mortality, which gives people a light to live by and a flame to mark their passing."
Wish you guys were in this area. Every year, Albany, Oregon holds the largest veteran's day celebration/parade west of the Mississippi. You'd all have found friends there today. Me? Damned bum back acting up...it's all I can do to make it from the keyboard to the bathroom....
Didn't realize there's a new one coming--mainside? I vaguely remember the one off the parade deck and marching by the civilians, feeling pretty damn smart with my boot cut, boot cover, and floppily bloused trousers.
Dammit I think I'm gonna cry. J
