Anyone tried Modafinil/Provigil?

Read an article about it. Sounds like it would work great after sleep deprived, sick-toddler, all nighters. Used to have a bottle of Ephedra tabs for those mornings from hell, but it's not available anymore.

It is not a typical stimulant and is often described as a "wakefulness promoting agent." The drug is sometimes prescribed off-label for ADD/ADHD. In mass-media advertisements and websites, Cephalon markets the drug for improving 'alertness' and reducing 'excessive daytime sleepiness.'

LOL--the idea is to avoid massive amounts of coffee and or sugar for something less bad for me.

As I understand it, the military now gives this stuff to fighter pilots et al rather than Dexadrine.

Huh? So now we're doping our military pilots to make them faster/more alert? Makes sense but I'd not heard that before...

Apprently the Dexedrine made them shoot at Canadians. Go figure.

I've used Provigil once when I flew to CA for a race school and was jet lagged, sick, and could not get adjusted to the time change. My brother is a drug rep that sold it for a few years before moving to another company. It was hard to say if its effects where dramatic, which is a good thing. It had none of the effects of over-stimulation that caffeine, ephedrine, or energy drinks create. It has been received well in most instances, approved for fighter pilots and other important professions. It has also been seeing an increase by college students who desire to stay up all night and cram for test. The drug has been shown to improve concentration.
