Man pleads guilty to murder of his father
Simpson awaiting sentencing from judge for his crime By Barbara Ramirez/Caller-Times November 13, 2006 A 29-year-old man charged with murder in connection with the April shooting death of his 62-year-old father pleaded guilty Monday before District Judge Jack E. Hunter. Hunter accepted the guilty plea of Kelly Simpson and is expected to sentence him Monday afternoon. Simpson turned down an offer of a 40-year sentence from the Nueces County District Attorney’s Office, instead asking that Hunter decide the sentence. Police accused Simpson and another man, 21-year-old Paul Joseph Dembowksi Jr., of killing Simpson’s father, Michael Simpson, then taking money from his safe deposit box to buy older-model Porsche sports cars. |
