A ride on the track with a Ferrari FXX . . .

Posted by the owner: Fchatter Manuma

FXX

He also drifts his Enzo Enzo Drift

Fchat Post

His Site

I don’t really think I’d want to ride with him at speed. He doesn’t appear to be in control all of the time . . .

He may not be great driver, but at least he saved it. Looks like he needs some kart time.

I didn't realize the Enzo accelerated like that, that's pretty damn fast for a real street car.

If you read the Fchat thread some guys do mention his lack of skill. And, of course, they are daddy's cars.

What he lacks in driving skill he makes up for in acceleration. Wow!

He really needs to spend some of his money on lessons. That guy is a hazard to everyone else on the track not to mention those brave or stupid enough to ride with him.
Great car though.
Wonder what it can do in the hands of someone with enough skills to really drive it (certainly not me!)

That car seems brutal.

Wow! Pretty incredible car. Watching that video, it seems to me that the car has a pretty abrupt power delivery, violent actually. I'd be afaraid to wring it out myself. Looking at the specs on that car, it has 800 HP from a 6.3 Liter (382 CI), normally aspirated V12. The car weighs 2546 pounds empty and has a power to weight ratio of 3.18 lbs/hp. Holy Moly!!

Yea, the guy doesn't look like a pro, far from it, but c'mon guys. I think most of us on this forum would have our hands full with that car (although I think most of us fancy ourselves to be Michael Schumacher or a similar favorite driver ). As a matter of fact, all of the drivers "receive training by Ferrari test drivers at the Fiorano circuit where Ferrari does most of it's testing" (quoted from an article I read on the web)

By the way, it is not street legal. It was designed to be a track-only version of the Enzo and they only built around 20 of them. The car wasn't designed to be raced per se' but rather was designed as a rolling test bed of sorts. It supposedly transmits 39 different vehicle parameters in real time which Ferrari will use to help it develop future super cars. The owners are called "Client Test Drivers" by Ferrari.

Holy cow, that acceleration is unbelievable ... would be great to see MS drive that and see what it could really do.

BTW, was that a rear view monitor on the dash ??? Also, loved the way he casually reached down for a cellphone / camera while at speed on the straight

I couldn't tell if those were Porsches or Fiats he passed. In that ride--might as well be Fiats.

I watched it with the sound off while the family was in the room. I was wonder what the hell he was doing jerking the wheel so violently, most of the time the car didn't look likw it was steppng out. Then I listened to it with headphones on! WOW!

I suppose the guy is a better driver than a lot of fat cats that can afford such a car...(e.g. all the wreck Carrera GT's).

Guys, I don't know about you, but I think that was one of the most awesome sounding engines I've ever heard, and I mean that. There were times when it almost had a 917 type sound.

Richard, I just read the thread you linked to and found this:

Quote:

Did I read right that you have to PAY to get in

Yes, it costs $10 a person for the general public to get in. If you can prove that you're an owner (keys, insurance card, etc) then you can get yourself and your party in without charge.

You've GOT to be kidding me! That's is a bit over the top isn't it?

I love Ferrari but that's a bit embarrassing, and people think Porsche people are snobs.

(edit: Never mind, Richard. It's in Vegas next to the floor of the casino. That says all. If they didn't do this, every redneck and his brother would be in that place pawing all over the cars. I get it now.)

Yes, its true. They have to do it... and even then, a line forms at the door before 9 AM when the place opens 7 days a week. They only let about 15-20 people in at a time, and you are watched by friendly staff standing around smiling everywhere. Can you imagine what a zoo it would be if 10,000 people a day go through the place?

He is not such a terrible driver. That car is a beast, and he keeps it on the road. That thing is so far beyond the performance of anything that one of us has likely driven on a track, (with the exception of Grady), there is no comparison. It is like riding a 1 liter sport bike really fast.

I thought that he used reasonable caution and probably turned a respectable, (if not spectacular), lap time.
