It must be nice to have seasons and cool weather.....
 

I wouldn't know. ;) Seriously. I'm unpacking Christmas stuff and sweating like a pig. It's 85* outside. This has been the hottest year on record in SoCal. I haven't worn anything but shorts and a tee shirt since last March.

I don't drive for pleasure w/o AC unless it's 70 or below and I don't drive at night if I can help it. That leaves early mornings and some evenings to drive. So, when I sold the '71 S in April, it was about to be stored for the summer. Isn't that a laugh? I store cars for anywhere up to 9 months so I can drive when it's cool outside and not get blistered in the cabin. the rest of the country puts 'em away by October, when mine should be coming out!

Sure hope it cools down by Thursday's run. In our local mountains on a day like today, it can get up to 80-90 at noon and be the 30's at night. With that thin air, if you stand in the sun, you will last about 5 minutes until you get sunburned and real hot. Then you will find a tree.

Black cars suck (remember the last one was flat black and this one is shiny black). But, they're fun to look at. By next summer I'm gong to have the AC on the '88 working well. I'll probably install a rotary. That's one reason I moved to a later car. Not driving in the middle of the day for 8-9 months is as bad as living above the 50th.

Well, my pits have dried somewhat, back to lugging boxes. I tell you, the grass is always greener. :)

not sure if you have your tongue in your cheek or not. but I do enjoy the seasons. we are in the high 30's right now and the air has the smell of snow in it. but likely no flakes will fall just yet. winter is getting harder on my body now and keeping up with the houses's cold weather needs is harder also.

I'm about twenty or so miles north of Milt, and it's easily 90 degrees outside. But it's that easterly 90 degrees, where everything is hot, even the beach. Shorts and tee-shirts all year, yes, I can relate.

FWIW, I'm glad I put that little oil cooler scoop in my bumper; my car's temperatures have gone down ten degrees on average.

I grew up in CA...the grass is rarely greener when weather and SoCal is on the docket.

I love the seasons, but summer here simply cannot suck enough...your pits would never dry, trust me.

Right at the moment its windy, there is light rain in the air and its about 40 degrees. Don't need air con thats for sure!

Its definitely Autumn (fall) in the south of England.

Tongue is not in cheek and I'm not teasing. Damn hot weather gets boring. But. it's now only 3 hours until dusk and the temps are fallin of nicely. Maybe time for a ride.

BTW, yesterday morn was real foggy. Not that cool, still a tee shirt at 6AM. But, I do like the HP on a cool, damp morning. Hot, windy, dry weather sucks the HP out of a 911. Like David says, good cooling is a must almost 12/12 in SoCal.

We'll live with it. We gots the fires, mudslides and earthquakes too. You sure the grass ain't greener? ;)

Yeah I hear you, 50 today for a high, going into the 20's tonight. Calling for some snow just west of us. I feel every broken bone I have ever had. (I've had a number of them) I can't wait to go to work tomorrow and stand on the concrete for 10 hours.
I'll trade you...............11 months of summer sounds great to me, to bad it's in Ca.

It's Oregon. It's November. The temp is high 40's, the sky is a leaden gray, no sun, no shade, a steady rain is falling. This pattern should stop in May sometime. Then it'll turn to showers with maybe a few sun breaks. The winter colors of Oregon..gray low lying clouds dumping rain, and the green of the plants and grass. It goes on...and on...and...

waaaaaaaaaaa.....it's too hot for christmas.....waaaaaaaaa

That's another point to consider.

Lets see, the perfect house and region: 4 seasons, on a lake, no basement, no problems with rain or snow (close to maintained road), heated and cooled 1000 sq.ft garage (oh, and house too) work at home, no traffic, lots of great roads and one hour away some some decent culture, restaurants, shopping, etc., no mosquitos or flys and low humididity.

Or, on the coast and the temp never goes beyond 60-80. But, we have lots of that in CALIFORNIA and too many PEOPLE trying to share it. Or, the likes of David Geffen who doesn't want anyone in front of his house.

I know what you mean. I grew up in England and them moved to CA in 1999. Great as the weather is I did really miss the season changes, particularly winter. The first time I drove home from work at Christmas in short sleeves and with the roof down was great, but celebrating Christmas in the pool under the Californian sun - good as that may be - is just fundamentaly wrong!
I actually like being cold at Christmas, but not too cold. The change of seasons really IS great!

Not to gloat, but...
* 4 seasons? -- check
* On a lake? -- I'm about 1/4 mile away. But we've got a couple of cottages lakefront about 80 miles from here for summer use. check.
* Basement? -- Few houses around here lack basements. It makes a great place to store wine and beer, or hide the excercise equipment. So I miss that point.
* Problems with rain or snow? No problems. We're off of the 100 year flood plain, so rain's not a problem. Snow isn't a problem with a good snow blower. Streets always get plowed. If not, you stay home and make a fire!
* Heated and cooled 1000 ft garage? Check. Ok, the heaters are space heaters. But even without them the temperature stays above freezing. As far as cooling, well -- the foundation stays cool well into June.
* Work at home? Check. The commute is from the kitchen to the library when I'm not travelling.
* Traffic? Not a problem unless I'm going to Boston during rush-hour.
* Lots of Great roads? We've got our share. Certainly nothing is straight and level around here.
* one hour away from some some decent culture, restaurants, shopping, etc.? Boston is 40 minutes away excepting rush-hour. Skiing (small hill) is across town, bigger hills are 90 minutes to 2 hours away. Even Nashua which is 15 minutes away has a surprisingly good restaurant scene.

I think I got myself a good deal. The kids' schools are good too!

A little more wet and windy here in Seattle. Tossed on the parka and went for an easy 2 mile hike in the woods with my 2 boys and golden retriever.

No one around, the Autum forest is tinkling with water, sound of falllen leaves russling at your feet and the streams are bubbling. Did not even break a sweat. Total bliss.

I'm just a little north of you and would almost agree....but in another month I'll be dreaming of a Nor Cal post Christmas.
