Goog

+14.60 today.

I thought it was ridiculous at the first public offering. It hit $175 before I could blink and I thought it was just dumb. It couldn't possibly hit $400, right? Wrong. At $400 I thought it would level off. Wrong again. $509.65 today. OMG. This is madness. When will it end?

BRPORSCHE 11-21-2006 06:52 PM

what is goog? Is that a stock ticker?

Shuie 11-21-2006 06:54 PM

Yeah, title should have said 'GOOG'. Its Google

on-ramp 11-21-2006 06:54 PM

$80 last month for Adwords with no results.. what a ****** scam!

now i know where all my money is going.

rcecale 11-21-2006 07:59 PM

$500.00 a share for Google stock....bahhh, that's nothing!

For the real high-rollers, try trading multiple shares of Berkshire-Hathaway (Class A)...

BRK-A has only gone up $9k-10k in the last couple of months. Definitely no more than 10%. I think GOOG has went from $400-$500 in the same time frame.

motion 11-21-2006 08:22 PM

Goog - I'm loving it! :D Bring on $600!

M.D. Holloway 11-21-2006 08:52 PM

I remember when BRK was $30,000 a share.

Nice avatar. You don't happen to own a chain of New England-based furniture stores, do you?

I can't tell you when it will end, but I can tell you it will be a blood bath when it does end.

A whole generation of young investors are going to learn some very painful lessons when Google implodes.

turbo6bar 11-22-2006 04:39 AM

I gotta admit GOOG is blasting off, but my money is still on BRKA/BRKB.

Let's refer to YHOO for some perspective on this...

I can only dream.

:D

Im talking about growth. IBM has shown more growth than BRK.A in the last quarter. I know its a well run and profitable company, but BRK.A is $100k+ per share because its never split, isn't it? BRK.B hasn't moved significantly in the last quarter either. Either way, you could buy partial shares if you wanted to, right? So the entry price per share isn't that big of a deal.

GOOG has shown a 20% increase in a very short amount of time on top of already absurd growth. How much higher can it possibly go? And how come its not taking the other top tier IT stocks with it? It goes up almost constantly while other IT stocks go back and forth without showing much overall gain. I've been waiting for the bloodbath since it hit $250. whoops

Nostril Cheese 11-22-2006 07:04 AM

What is BRK?

M.D. Holloway 11-22-2006 07:29 AM

The NYSE ticker for Berkshire-Hathaway - essentially a guy that some folks invest in. Each share is going for $107,300.00.

Nathans_Dad 11-22-2006 09:52 AM

BRK has never split, that's why it is so high. Buffett doesn't believe in stock splits. Try and guess how much a share of Microsoft would be if it had never split. More than BRK I bet...

arcsine 11-22-2006 10:29 AM

Well, MSFT is at about $30 right now and there have been chronologically 5 x 2:1 splits, 2 x 3:2 splits and 2 x 2:1 splits. I make that about $8640 per share taking the splits out unless I missed something.

RKC 11-22-2006 10:43 AM

Berkshire is up 25% since May - I own two shares - unfortunately the "B" shares!

How much in the latest quarter? That's the kind of question that would probably drive Buffet crazy! LOL!

turbo6bar 11-22-2006 11:50 AM

BRKA and BRKB should not be ignored. Compare the 10 yr performance of either against the indexes.
