Reminds me of the Plymouth-Dakar challenge:

Basically, you have a limit of £100 to buy a beater, and then you drive from Britain to Africa. Their website is a train wreck, but it's REALLY funny stuff.

They've been doing it every year since '03... I think it would be a HOOT!
