7 habbits of highly effective people

I poured over this book in the 90s and picked it up again today. Amazing how insightful it is and how much it actually influenced how I do things. Anyone else here a fan?

I always thought it was a gimmick for Stephen Covey to sell his daytimers. The old fashioned write in ones.

I have a copy but I never read it. Will do it now though because I'm at a crossroads at work.

Hugh,

Is there a Daytimers in a computer version?

I used them years ago in paper format but have not had them for a while.

I don't know if you meant that as dry humor or not, but it's funny.

Best,

If you have a copy, by all means read it or even just skim it. It was well worth it for me. Because of it I developed the 5 principles that I live by and teach to my children today. It helped me focus my actions and thoughts quite a bit. Probably the best $6 I spent.

I just saw your other thread. Yes, read this book and I also highly recommend The Art of Happiness at Work by the Dailai Lama. It is not preachy.

I read the book years ago, & it is probably the most "useful" book I have ever read. I highly recommend it. I think of the 7 habits on a regular basis.

Yes, I read this book when it came out, and for me it was the gospel (or rather one of several gospels) when I was in business. Really great common sense for anyone in business.

I took a class based on the book. It viewed time-management as a borderline religious discipline. I was even told in the class that effectively managing my time would lead to inner peace.

One quote (not from the class) that I will never forget:

"If you want other people to think your ideas are really smart, attribute them to Benjamin Franklin."
