really only 2 options in summer here. hawaiian shirts or XXL t-shirts that are dark colored. i normally wear an XL t-shirt. so going 1 size up helps. also baggy cargo pants work well for carrying.

it will really be nice for honest law abiding people when all 50 states including our capital, have RECIPROCAL CCW laws. my trip to kalif coming up here is a joke trying to protect myself and g/friend. technically i will be safe(meaning having loaded gun in poss.) for all of about 6-8 hours while im in hotel room. other than that, gun in camper shell and mags in console!

excuse me mr bad guy...........let me stop vehicle, get out, unlock camper shell, load weapon, rack weapon, take weapon off of safe, and then point in general direction of threat! what a crock of POO! a law abiding citizen cannot protect one self in the nation that he lives.

now im sure the cons released from pelican point pen worry about carrying concealed laws, possession laws etc. when they are about to commit another armed robbery/murder/rape/kidnapping/car jacking!

and the real kicker to it..............you the citizen cannot SUE the state of kalif, the county, the city where crime was committed AGAINST YOU, for police not being able to protect YOU!

so bottomline...........the cops cannot protect YOU! and are not liable! and you CANNOT PROTECT YOURSELF OR LOVED ONES!

NOW THAT MAKES A HELL OF ALOT OF ******* SENSE! im so pissed off writing this ...........i just may go out and buy another assault weapon, take a picture of me holding it, and send it to the kalif. legislature, with caption..............YOUR STATE SUCKS!

Cops cannot protect you. They are basically armed crime scene investigators. Nothing against cops mind you. I come from a cop family. However in order for them to "protect" you they would have to be like a body guard.

targa i understand, believe me. i have alot of cop friends that live by me and who i go to school with. but think about iraq, as screwed up as it is...........each family IS ALLOWED 1 full auto AK-47 and a hand gun to protect his family. shiite sunni kurd. now i know its not going real good there, but look at what we have here. i go from state i can protect myself to a state i cannot protect myself. not alot of sense, here in the good old U.S.! i may as well be going to mexico where its the cops and the bad guys who have the only guns!

The gun must be unloaed and locked either in a case or in the trunk of the car. There is still "debate" about the offcial meaning of loaded. At this point, it means whatever the officer says it means.

On open carry dot com, a sherrif from Mariposa county says as long as the rounds are not _IN_ the weapon, it is unloaded. If the gun has a detachable magazine, and the mag is out, the gun is unloaded, even if it is "touching" the gun or they are in the same case.

However, some cops will call the gun loaded if you are in _possession_ of a loaded magazine.

Open carrying a gun in California is legal, in _UNINCORPORATED_ areas, where it is not prohibited by local law. So, you can open carry in a town, but not a city. Some Counties (LA County) also prohibit open carry in unincorporated areas, even though firearm laws are pre-emptive.

BTW, go quickly. After the 1st of the year, Jerry "Moonbeam" Brown is the Attorney General....

The REAL scarey part is that most owners of CW permits actually know more about the CCW laws than the LEO's. I thank God that in most states you do not have to tell them unless asked. Some LEO's get real jumpy knowing you are armed. Knowing the laws will get you nowhere at that moment. You can only hope that he is a friendly because you actually have a permit.

last night at class on break, brought up subject with 3 male phx p.d. cops 1 female county sheriff and 1 mesa male cop. mentioned this topic and ALL concurred that THEY WANT MORE CCW's!!!!!

why? in typical cop humor...........because citizen will take care of problem the correct way before they get there!!! also concurred that what is going on in iraq w/every household having full-auto ak-47 and a hand gun, in the hands of a background checked responsible citizen is a fantastic idea.

WHY? once again w/gallows humor..............we could eat donuts all shift and not EVER WEAR BODY ARMOR AGAIN!

i shudder at the thought of bringing my folding stock, carbon fiber barrel, scoped semi ruger .22 backpack rifle to kalif w/40rd clips...........I WOULD BE IMPRISONED and called MAO/STALIN/OSAMA/POL POT/HITLER etc.

some of the goofiest laws we have ever read in our lives exist in that state!
