Oh Haha 11-26-2006 04:13 PM

I bought the DVD the day it came out.
Great movie with cool characters. My 3YO has watched it daily. IMO, Mater makes the movie.
You know the movie is called "CARS", right?

Zef 11-27-2006 08:33 AM

Yup...Cars...in French it's -Les Bagnoles-...Sally is not bad too...!!!

Jims5543 11-27-2006 08:38 AM

Its also Lightning McQueen. :D

Great movie and if you bought the DVD check out the little making of clip.

It made us think and we decided to take US 441 from Florida to North Carolina this spring and take a few days seeing the country.

Where are those cars at? I want to say MGM studios in Orlando.

We loved the movie, and liked "Over the Hedge" but were very disappointed with "Monster House"...

My 4yr old calls it "Light'n". My 7yr old son didn't like the part were they make 'Light'n' pull the paver, he thought that the farm tractor would do a better job. This stems from a conversation I had with him concerning horse power and torque.

I think I make get a sticker tramp stamp to put on the rear of the Targa. She's been around the block some.

Jim:

Take a trip to Northern New MExico and Arizona (four corners) and see the inspiration fo "Radiator Springs". We have been there a number of times and have never tired of the natural beauty of the area.

There are So many old cars in the area in rural yards, some running, most not.

And you can drive on lots of parts of U.S.66 that are still viable!!

Man, my son wants to watch that movie every chance he gets. I think he has seen it 10 times or so now.

I was amazed, the first time he saw the movie he was so emotionally invested in it that he started crying during the scene where the James Taylor song is playing and they are showing how Radiator Springs used to be. He was soooo sad.

Now he has the Lightning McQueen shake 'n' go racer, Lightning McQueen PJs (two sets), Lightning McQueen pillowcase, and Mater shake 'n' go racer. Yeesh, buy stock in Disney.

We rented the DVD this weekend. They watched it pretty much non-stop during the time when they can have the TV on.

Good movie, kids didn't care for it, although I did get a chance to edumacate my daughter on the origin of the Carrera name... best part is that Sally was her favorite character before I got involved :)

We commute between Florida and NC a lot between our homes.

Normally, I am out to set a time elapse record to see how fast I can make the trip. I did it in 9 hours when mapquest and my GPS says its an 11.5 hour trip. :D

I used my cruise control and set it to 83 MPH and tried to only stop for gas. Hard to do and hard on the family. Daddy has a problem....

So, I told the wife we should drive US 441 up. Its an old road that was used heavily prior to the construction of I-95 and I-75. It runs right to Sylva NC where our house is. So off we go this spring. I plan on a thread with lots of pictures to document this fun trip exploring all the little towns along the way.
