Met a Porsche Community Celebrity (sort of)
I was at a gas station in northern CT earlier today, and a guy driving a Land Rover started asking me about my car. Turns out to be Robert somethingorother - RolexNJ on Rennlist - who you might all remember was the unfortunate man whose NJ garage was broken into last year. There were a few nice cars, including a Ferrari, but all that was stolen was the very tuned 951. Car turned up in a chop shop in Boston awhile later.
Granted, he still has the Ferrari to keep him occupied, but Robert told me that he is currently building a monster 951 out of a turbocharged-and-bored-to-3.1 liters version of the 968 powerplant. There is a website about the build, but I forget what it was.
As soon as he told me his 951 was stolen last year, I immediately knew who he was. Small world, eh?
