Apparently this was one of Kimi's race cars from the start of the season. That suprised me a little as they normally make show cars for this sort of thing, but it did apear to be the case that this was (at some point) an actual car, look at the radiator in the side pod in the last photo for example. It was about to be flown back to the UK, according to the guy driving the transporter around.
Whether it was real or not, it is still a super-cool looking motor car!

I always take my multimillion dollar race car to pick up a 12 pack of Rickards Red. Dont you guys?

But I hope you don't park in the disabled space!

That is really cool, I have to wonder how many costomers there in Georgia actually knew who Kimi was.

The coolest looking car on the grid last year in my book great color scheme. I also like the Torro Rosso look as well.

I was actually up in South Carolina, this was Frugal McDougal's liqour store near Carowinds for any locals. There were a few people who seemed to know about the car, but there were by far more asking what it was.

Funny thing was that this was a fine piece of opportunist timing.
I came up to visit a friend of mine and get some gift shopping done. Knowing what a good store this was in terms of their Scotch supply I suggested we drop in on the way back. I noticed the poster on the door as we walked in at 3:20, that the car was going to be there between 4pm and 7pm. Sure enough as we waited in the checkout line the transporter arrived. What luck!
Even better is that my friend is a HUGE fan of F1, and her favorite driver...?

KIMI!

I helped the guy to get the car out of the transporter. Well I had too, it was going to be difficult for him to do it by himself after all wasn't it?
Let's just say that my friend got a little bit of a closer look at the car than most people would...from a 'Kimi's office' point of view!
That made her day!

I just think these cars are beautiful, all the sculpting of the air control surfaces is simply fascinating to see. Just an amazing piece of technology. Also, the color scheme on this car looks so much better in the carbon than it does on TV. That chrome finish is really cool!

I got some good whisky too!

Is that the one that had the front suspention failure, the one that had the transmission failure, or one of the many that suffered catestrophic engine failures? ;)

I did see some irony in it being in the 'Disabled' space!

I suspect that it probably was a car that was involved in a impact of some kind which compromised the tub. Either that or it was a tub that had run 'X' number of hours and was deemed to be at the end of it's useful life. There were plenty of parts on it that looked as though they were used. I would guarantee that this car had no engine or transmission installed. They normally just fit some kind of space frame in the rear to hold everything together.

You could have a pretty safe bet to say that that car saw some sort of transmission or engine faliure - there was no shortage of them was there!
