'Cause the Budweiser gets watered down:)

Wow!
That was crazy!!
did you notice they were all on slicks instead of rain tires?.....was it a sudden downpour?
Nascar feels a crash would be bad for their image, the fans would go home disappointed and never return????????
Maybe we should put treaded tires, windshield wipers, and defrosters in the COT. That would make it a racecar.

I've seen a few yard sales but that one was AWSOME!

I believe that NASCAR cup cars do now race in the rain -- but only on road courses using rain tires. While none of their few road course excursions have been on rainy days of late, I believe that did have an opportunity to use the rain tires for practice at Watkins Glen a few years back.
None of the series (including CART) races on ovals in the rain. Given the very narrow performance envelope and constant high speeds on an oval, compared to the sudden changes in traction resulting from puddles, weepers and such, it would be extremely dangerous to race on an oval in the rain. |
