Coup d etat American Style

This is surreal, but the US has suffered a coup d tat. Call it being a Lame Duck President, Regency or whatever U like ...but as of late GW doesn't talk like a man calling the shots anymore. Someone or somebody has taken the keys away from Junior.

Its as if someone else is making the decisons now regarding Iraq and GW is just delivering the message. He is like a kid who has run amuck in a candy store and now the adults are back in charge.

I think it all started last June...that was the time when Junior was rattling the saber about using a military option in Iran. Then U notice nothing more was said about about military action in Iran and things cooled down. That was about the time that Jim Baker first started talking to Junior.

The powers that be had enough of Junior back in June and put him on a short leash till the election. Giving him one last chanch with the American people and when that failed they took the keys away from him. The head that went was Rummys, in the old days it woulda been GWs, today we is civilized.

I would love to know who suggested Jim Baker talk to GW..or who convinced GW to call Jim Baker..

I've heard conflicting reports about Bush calling in Baker for advice. But the ISG was started w/o Bush's involvement.

So you just discovered that GW was a puppet? Good Lord, I should have told you. I`ve known it all along. He was put there because he is so dumb, makes a perfect puppet. It just has become more apparent lately. Congratulations on your discovery !

OHHH PLEASE...too ludicrous to discuss...

However every President is a MADE MAN...like the Mafia they are all ORGANIZATION men...They all are supporters of the Staus Quo...so in that sense yeah they are all Puppets..

Yet each one is entrusted with the keys of power and put his or her stamp upon the office and country.

As head of the executive Branch they are the head of the Civil Service which is so large as to be unwieldy...turn the wheel of the ship of state and a year later U notice a slight change in course.

This is all US Govt 1.....

I am talking about a President who fks up and has no way of getting the country out of a mess...every option is a recipe for diaster...kind of like leading America into a Tar Pit...every move only sinks U in deeper...pity the poor Mastodon who is stuck and sinking.

It's already been well reported. It was either Time or Newsweek (I get both and can't remember which did the article I'm thinking of) did a big story on how Bush's chief of keeps a "hit by a bus" book which is his personal book of who he would recomend to replace current cabinet members if they were "hit by a bus", discovered tm-ing underaged boys, or otherwise became liabilities to the regime, I mean administration. In that book was the super secret plan to replace the former secretary of defense. The administration had wanted to get rid of him for a long time, but they thought that they could not withstand another bruising Sentate confirmation battle and the public embarassment of dumping a guy the president was so publicly defending.

Then the chief of staff showed the book to Bush. His pick to take the secrtetary of defense position was Baker. Bush was intrigued and directed him to pursue the idea. To that point the administration didn't have much contact with Baker, but he was getting more exposure as a Wise Old Man. The SecDef position didn't work out for various reasons, but that was the start of Baker's return to the second Bush administration.

It was a couple of months ago, but I'll look around and see if I still have the magazine. if I do, I'll post more details and the actual date so you can look it up.
