Apparently he did get one lawyer. Good for him. |
The story did mention something about a toilet in a truck. Is that worth dying over?
"Jackson, 59, told witnesses before he was shot that he had been cheated over a toilet he had invented for use in trucks" |

It's one thing to joke about a hypothetical happening, but someone actually died here..and you're making light of it because he was a lawyer? He must not have a wife, or kids, or family, because, hell, scum sucking lawyers don't have those things! Yea, right. He wasn't some sleezy criminal defense lawyer who got rapists off, or murderers off, he was a PATENT ATTORNEY. All he does is research and read all day to find out if the guy hiring him has a legit. patent or not and where to go from there. He did not deserve this, as you imply, just by virtue of occupation. |
ST,
The group of lawyers need to do a better job of cleaning up their profession, then many of us would agree more with you. After saying that, no this gent did not deserve to die but after you are bent over time after time by the lawyers around the world, who are judged by judges who were a lawyer before being a judge, it can make some people go "round the bend" so to speak. When the lawyers themselves put their foot down and start stopping their fellow members from screwing everyone in sight it might make people feel differently about their profession. This is not a feeling that has started recently "The first thing we do," said the character in Shakespeare's Henry VI, is "kill all the lawyers." |
It is a shame that someone lost his life. But as long as someone had to die, it might as well be a lawyer.
I share Shakespeare's sentiment. |
So you're using an aggregate stereotype to justify the murder of an individual?
Why do you have such problems with lawyers? What kinds of lawyers do you have problems with? Criminal defense, patent, tax? Do you like lawyers that work to your benefit, such as tax attorney's? How, exactly, has a PATENT ATTORNEY screwed you over so many times that you feel the need to rejoice in ones death? Don't paint the the group with the sins of a few. All my experience with lawyers has been through my father. Long story short, during the divorce, her lying, scum sucking piece of **** lawyer lied, cheated, twisted the truth, and in my opinion, and the opinion of my father's lawyer, obstructed justice or instructed his client to do so. As an end result, she, my mom, ended up debt free, with a LARGE sum of money from my dad. My dad? He got every piece of debt, the mortage, the school loans for my sister...and he's going to be working until he's dead to pay everything off. Doesn't make chump change, either. On the other hand, my dad's patent attorney is a complete gentleman, and is worth every bit what he's paid. A blanket hate of lawyers is irrational and ignorant, at best. Regarding Shakespeare, do you take everything you read to heart quite so much? How about FastPat's Lew Rockwell articles? Quote:

Toady, dont let the dumda@$ get to you.

You have your opinion, I have mine.
I've been sued before, over something that was absolutely a fabrication. No truth to it in the slightest. The lawyers got together and started running up the bills. At the very first lunch they had (which I paid for) they both agreed it was a bogus case. they even discussed how risky it was to proceed given that it was frivilous. They agreed that since they knew most of the judges there was little risk of getting in trouble. My lawyer told me this straight out, and never flinched! He had no clue that was he was engaged in was wrong, to him that was just how the system works. After a whole bunch of lunches, a whole bunch of paperwork, and a whole bunch of other crap, they decided to drop the case. It cost me $14,000 for nothing because of these two parasites. They knew what they were doing, they did it on purpose, they had no concience or care of right and wrong. It was simply how much can we get away with. There was no punishment for the scum who started this whole mess out od spite. They can't punish those people, if they did who would support the lawyers? Lawyers exist because they have created a system where you can't survive without them. You need a lawyer to protect you from other lawyers. If your lawyer lies better than his opponent, you win (sort of). If the other lawyer lies better, he wins. Either way, win or lose, the lawyers get paid. The laws are written by lawyers, created by lawyers, and controlled by lawyers. It stopped being about right or wrong a long time ago. That is the fault of the lawyers. You want to say some lawyers are bad and some are good because of their chosen field. I prefer to say that some just aren't as bad as others. You compared murderers, rapists, and drug lords to lawyers. Not my words, but ................. |
BT, you must be a lawyer.
One more jacka$$ on the ignore list. Did you know that most politicians are lawyers? not a coincidence that the people we trust the least are trained to lie by their profession. |
Like I give a crap.
No, I am not a lawyer. I dont advocate killing people I dont like. Nor do I rejoice when some nut comes into a office and starts killing people. What about the 78yr old retired school teacher (working in the mailroom) he killed also? |
No one deserves to die.
That said, I am in the same mindset as Sammy. My business has been sued a couple of times and instead of fixing the problem the Lawyers made it worse and more expensive. One lawsuit which could have been fixed for less than $5000 ended up totalling $150,000 when the lawters got done with it. One lawyers fee was $50,000 the other two were in the $30,000 range and the last $40,000 went to fixing the problem that should have been fixed for $5000. I had another lawyer try to extort $10,000 from me. I told him to f@ck off. Well, actually my attorney did it and it costs me $1000 to tell him that but in a lot more words, some of them in Greek. I paid $1000 bacause some attorney decided to try to take $10,000 from me for no good reason. I just had another Attorney try to extort $180,000 from me and I didn't do anything wrong. The party responsible had no insurance and I do so it made sense to the attorney to sue me instead. I personally wrote that letter being sick of paying an attorney $1000 each time I need to write a letter. I am not too broken up over this story, especially since it seems MAYBE these attornies stole from this man. Of course I do not have all the facts in this case so I cannot possibly pass judgement. |
I agree, lawyers are the scum of the earth.
the system is designed to feed them while hurting innocent people. it's not a coincidence cases take years in the justice system. it's on purpose, to keep feeding the lawyers. |
I have also been sued. I have seen my parents thru their lawyers do some ****ty things to each other.
I know several crooked lawyers and its not hard to dream of their demise. Hell, there are LOTS of people that I wish a untimely demise but where does it stop? How does one preach for a civil society but under my voice, I'm happy because those I dislike are dead. I am no boy scout, murder is useful and effective but what happens if my adversary has the same operandi? |

I for my part also agree with the sentiment expressed by Shakespere, mainly because it is lawyers more than any other profession that have well and truly effed this country up beyond recognition. PS: I'm not sure comparing Shakespeare to Lew Rockwell is the soundest of comparisons...LOL. |

Interesting perspective from a soldier, and if your tag is to be believed, a sniper. There are a lot of folks that don't regard you all too highly. Do you have your "foul fate" coming to you? |

"I surely don't applaud this man's death, but to a lot of people..." Don't shoot the messenger. And if you insist on doing so, i'd suggest Shakespeare... BTW, we all have it coming to us, whether we deserve it or not. |
If I chose extortion as my profession, no one would feel sorry for me if someone walked in and "offed" me.
But call that extortionist a "lawyer", and all of the sudden their chosen profession of fleecing the public deserves respect. |
