Wow, somebody else with a similar problem to me.....
I'm 22, and have had a heart murmur since birth. Over the last 3-4 years I have noticed that I can actually feel my heart beat sometimes didn't really think anything of it until I noticed that when I feel it beat it is because it hadn't been beating for a second or two before. This got me worried.
I also suffer from random PVC events, except mine come in 2's, 3's 4's and sometimes 5's. After 4 or 5 in a row my heart will stop for a second or two to re-time and away it goes again.
I've been in to see a cardiologist who recorded all of this a couple of different ways (holter monitor, echo cardiogram, electro cardiogram, etc.), and after everything was said and done he still has done nothing about it.

Like you when they get bad enough you can feel them in your throat and it kind of makes you sick to your stomach. Since I disocovered this problem I have moved cities, and you have reminded me to follow up with a local cardiologist.

The solution they gave you 'avoid caffeine' is a very good one, since I as well find that it makes my problem MUCH worse, but it is most definately present even when I don't ingest any. In fact, it has happened 3 times just while I am typing this post.

When I first went to see a doctor about it they diagnosed it as small panic attacks and basically told me to get lost. I didn't return for a year, and on my next visit they said the same thing, but I was also suffering from high blood pressure at the time so they referred me to a cardiologist who discovered the real problem. Needless to say I don't trust doctors as far as I can throw them, and I don't see avoiding coffee as a solution to this problem.

Zero, caffine may seem like a harmless drug, but a drug it is. We all react differently. I can't take Vicodin because of the irregualr heart beat. Other meds similar in structure do the same. You have to monitor what you take, even cold meds to find out what triggers these deals. The worst one I had, just like Hayden's, was when I took some Motrin and Tramadol together. I won't do that again. Tramadol (gereric Ultram) is speed in disguise anyway. It 's all bad, IMO. I just wonder what I'm gonna do next time I have some surgery or other pain. Maybe a different class of drugs like Demerol or morphine, I don't know.

My wife is allergic to morphine, she found out the hard way waking up from back surgery vomiting. Not good on the 1 hour old surgery.

Caffine is poison.

Its a poison that really helps me focus and get work done when Im feeling bored and unmotivated, but often comes with the terrible price of heart murmurs, headaches, B.O., and mind-****ing withdrawls. Mmmm, Pete's...

Yes, but since 99% of the population can consume caffeine without any side effects, and I get issues from it then it is logical to assume that there is something wrong with those of us who it affects.
I understand it is a drug, but sometimes it can be a very valuable and helpful drug.
I'm not aware of any other drugs that I am allergic to, but I have never been given morphene or something like that (although I was given codeine when I had my wisdom teeth out), so I could be allergic to some pain killer.

Also worth noting, there are lots of other non-energizing things that set my heart off, if I eat mashed potatoes and turkey I notice it really bad, sometimes a small amount of sugar (like a normal 65g bag of skittles) will make it bad, all sorts of stuff, most of it without sugar or caffeine in it.

Haha, I just noticed that first I said avoiding caffeine was a good solution, then I said it is not a solution. I should clarify (I was in a hurry when I posted that), avoiding it may stop the PVC from happening, but it doesn't solve the underlying problem.
My entire family suffers from high blood pressure, high cholesterol, abnromal heart rhythms, frequent heart attacks, etc. Basically I'm screwed no matter what I do.
