Recipe? Just throw it on the grill. Hind legs is really all you can eat off a squirrel, at least the ones I shot. Tastes like chicken.

We hunt squirrels from the inside out..as in, from the inside of the house, outside! Setup on the couch or in the kitchen with the archery gear and just open the windows and screen door...we get a good area coverage. Got one the other day. I missed one because my broadheads were shooting funky. Couldn't find any field points or blunts.

Eat up and enjoy!

My son went squirrel hunting with my brother-in-law today and they got 2 big squirrels with my Remington 12ga and steel shot. My wife is looking for a good recipe right now and the squirrel meat is soaking in water, vinegar and a little salt. We have a rule in our house, if you shoot it, you're going to clean (dress it) and eat it.

ok, squirrel slingshot was funny.

for archery, try judo tips. fly like your fieldtips, and they shut off small things.

The Squirrels are getting into your attic through your computer and the PPOT.

I don't know if you use this method or were just throwing this out for an idea, but could you please keep your ignorant and cruel thoughts to yourself?

Actually Bill is part of the CIA,, he didn't mean drown them,, he meant waterboard them to find out where the others were hiding,, right Bill ??

Get the young ones and fry them in a pan like chicken with just a bit of flower and salt and pepper. The older ones benefit from a pressure cooker and then some frying. :D

I have a squirrel in my attic too. I had a tiny triangle of soffit blow out in the hurricanes of 04 and I never bothered to replace it, its in a really tight spot and gonna be hard to replace.

Well, a squirrel has found the opening 2 years later.

Jake, how did you catch them? Is there a squirrel trap I can get from the local shelter?

Oh, and mine will be catch and release. We actually feed the little sucker I had no idea he had decided to move in.

You want a funnel type effect, so that any squirrels left in the attic have a way out, but the sharp points will prevent them from going in. Put that over the opening for a couple of weeks. While having a squirrel in the attic is bad, it's even worse if one is trapped up there -- because then they get anxious and try to chew themselves out.

After a week or so, go back and permanantly close the opening.

Thanks for that info, I was trying to figure out how to get it out and not let it back in again.

wowee, this thread is over a year old? How'd it get bumped?

The FKING RATS never came back. My GOOD neighbor had caught a couple under his vernanda, so we had an intervention with my BAD neighbor, who was leaving his garbage outside. His garbage by the fence wasn't helping.

Funny that this got bumped though, because over the holidays I had to deal with a squirrel up in the attic. When I was doing the roof this fall, I was very careful to find loose shingles and other openings where they could get in.

I have no idea how he got in, and I have a foot and a half of snow on my roof, so I'm not going up there now. I set some live traps, but haven't caught any since.

JIm, did you ever get my PM about the maple syrup? Joe's got apprehended by customs and was never seen from again. Not sure if yours made it safetly. Now that Christmas is over I have some extra if you didn't get yours either, this time I won't send it in a booze bottle.

[QUOTE=Bill Verburg;2976330]Problem w/ guns, even air rifles, is the neighbors, they do get upset.

Not if they don't see you. I would shoot the pests from the upstairs bathroom window at my mothers house and just leave the dead to detour the rest.
