An interesting way to make a buck
I met this couple recently who sells stuff on eBay. This husband and wife team aren't your typical garage sale sellers though. In fact they sell only brand new stuff, none that they manufacture themselves or buy from China. These two enter internet sweepstakes by the dozen or so every week and the turn around and eBay their prizes.
So far they've won an SUV, a MINI Cooper, a front loading washer/dryer set, misc concert and sporting event tickets, toys, etc. They've kept the SUV but has since sold everything else.
They say it's provided them with a really great third income stream. It's hard and tedious work filling out electronic entry forms but the auto-fill feature of Internet Explorer helps a lot. The downside to all of this though is the tons of spam email they receive. They have to manually go through each email just to make sure they do not delete important stuff. Then they have to manage their eBay account to make sure their rating stays positive. Lastly, they make runs to the post office quite often but having a postal meter at home has made that chore easier.
Anyway, I just thought I'd throw out that business idea in case some of you may be looking for extra cash. They say there are plenty of sweepstakes for everybody to enter and it really doesn't diminish their chances of winning. This is due to the drop out rate. Just like any business, folks give up.
