Back on 2 wheels

After several years without, it's time to get a bike again.

I've pretty much settled on a VRSCR Street Rod because it seems to be all of what I'm looking for.

Any opinions on this bike? I've still got a couple models to look at before I buy (probably late winter/early spring), but what I've been looking for is what we used to call a "standard", with a bit of sport capabilities. No crotch-rockets or full-out cruisers for me, niether is really my style and each gives up something in favor of another.

Perfect choice for a guy with a 928.

Believe it or not, no disrespect intended. Anyone that has the cachangas to keep an all-aluminum V8 with rubber cam belts going has the wherewithall to appreciate a Porsche-designed Harley going.

Have ridden alongside one several times. They will do most everything well.

Welcome back to the fold.

Have you checked out the Triumph Speed Triple? Lots of attitude & power, reliable, and still somewhat out of the ordinary.

It was my *re-entry* bike a couple years back (search for the "Nato" thread in OT) and I really enjoyed it. The newer ones 05+ look incredible.

The similarities amongst their peers hasn't gone unnoticed; not "the best" at any particular thing, but excellent at everything.

There are several other brands/models I want to look into before buying; mostly Euro makes, but the lack of dealers in my area is biasing me toward Harley or Japanese products.
