Looking for a BIG WOODY
![]() My wife has wanted one of these for as long as I've known her (14 years). You can imagine the jokes that have come out of those conversations. Anyway, I'd like to find a nice Grand Wagoneer and surprise her with it. I know that low mileage top quality Woodys can fetch $20k+ (Wagonmasters, etc.). But, that would be overkill....and over budget. Would like to spend under $10k and hope to find a pretty nice rust-free clean example. . .preferrably already in the South. . .preferrably between '89 and '91. We live in NE Georgia near the SC state line. But long-distance is not out of the question. Any leads would be appreciated. Please don't e-mail. She'd read it before me and the plan would be foiled. Thanks! Mike Last edited by Chocaholic; 12-15-2006 at 05:06 AM.. |

Oh man.... I had one of those YEARS ago.
Ate me out of house and home. 17 bearings in the transfer case. Usually went 10K before replacement. Trannys would go 25K. Rear ends 30K. Front end bushings 20K. Plan on a digit ending in three zeros for any major repair. The the coup d'grace? 7 MPG on the freeway. Premium or ping. You don't want to know how much a valve job is. Buy your wife a Hummer. |

There's a place up here that has one from the late '80's that came out of CA. Rust free, tan with wood grain, tan interior. I think it was ~70,000 miles, asking price was about $12K. He said if we had a desire for something else he know's someone with a fleet of them to pick from. PM me and I'll get you the phone #.
