Living in Washington State, I'll probably never be ale to drive my car at Daytona or any or the major tracks out east/southeast...... Anyone ever drive with RPDE?

Had some friends do it at Joliet with the NASCAR-type cars. They loved it.

I did it at California Motor Speedway a couple years ago. What a blast! I highly recommend doing a "warm up" lap with one of the professional drivers before doing it solo. Its worth the extra coin. You get a new sense of respect for those banked turns. I had such an adrenaline rush when I stepped out of the car I couldn't hold onto a soda can. I'd love to do it again.

Oh yeah
Take your own helmet, I wouldn't put their loaners on my feet. I would not take your own Nomex unless your prepared to be the fastest person they have ever seenor be ribbed about it all day. They usually give you a single layer nomex suit and an old well used helmet, but it is a blast. Be prepared to spend $$ after your drive because they will have a pro photographer there taking pics of you during the process and on the track and you will want to buy everyone of them afterwards because your adreniline will be pumping so much Steve

Drive around in a circle in a car that is usually used for bumper cars on the weekend? Would rather eat dirt than spend money on anything associated with "Richard Petty."
Sorry, would rather spend the money and do a weekend school in Vegas or at one of the other professional racing schools.

Sorry I should clarify.
I did not attend a Richard Petty school. I can not remember who held it but it was someone other than Richard Petty. That being said I have worked with Mr Petty several times ( I shot a bunch of commercial featuring him) and always found him to be a wonderful man Try going out to lunch with him anywhere in the Carolina's let alone Level Cross Steve

Did RPDE a few years ago. Got it as a gift. It was a fun drive.
Take it for what it is. It's not a school, it is an amusement ride. If you do it, push the car hard, the pace car will control the speed and keep you safe. I was surprised how the car lacked road feel. Get your wife a ride along. The instructors run the passengers right up to the wall at speed. My wife really had fun. If you want a really good time, do a real driving school. I did the Derek Daly 3 day formula school in vegas back in 1998. It was great. Great learning experience and loads of fun. OT. Sly Stallone was there at the same time learning to drive for that crappy movie he was making. He rented one of the tracks for himself and did hundreds of laps over a few weeks. The instructors said he drove like he was trying to fight apollo creed. He crashed one of the formula cars and nearly totaled it. He really sucked. It was funny in the mornings, his limo would pull up to the nearly deserted building and his body guard would jump out and clear the area like secret service. Then he would signal Sly and they would rush to a private classroom. He refused to even look at the rest of us. Pretty funny.
