Gemballa really drops the ball. (Mirage GT)

I found this info on the Mirage GT, the modified Carrera GT. I personaly think the astectics are a complete failure of the concept and look about as cool as a Fiero conversion. I think its probably some of the worst work I have seen them put together. Very sad.

Good call.

But, when did Gemballa ever NOT drop the ball?

I don't really like being negative abou these things, but I've never seen a Gemballa that didn't look like an aesthetic atrocity. I really, really think they're awful. I simply have never been able to understand what anybody sees in those repackages.

This just confirms it.

Again.

That's simply a car that needs no "improvement".

Gemballa's designs have always been too "busy". They try to cram too many features into a car and completely hack the lines. Hell, look at the avalanche from the late 80's. Anyone with the poor taste to purchase one of those new should have had their kneecaps broken and then been required to crawl to Ferdinand Porsche's grave to beg forgiveness!

It actually looks tasteful for a Gemballa conversion. Still quite ugly. They'll sell 10.

The CGT is butt ugly in its own right. Gemballa neither hurt nor helped it. IMO, of course.

You're just saying that because Porsche didn't sell the CGT in Aubergine!

Absolutely agreed. I am convinced "Gemballa" is the word for "Abortion" in some obscure language.

Leave it to me to like a few things about it. In my mind, all the supercars hae some serious design faults. No one seems to understand balance, sleek flowing lines, etc, better than Pininfarina. And they can't design them all. That above, ain't the worst of them.

Only Gemballa could take the fugliest damned supercar ever made (yes, I'm talking about you, CGT) and then make it even more repulsive.

If you pay more money, do they fill in some of the holes?

Sure they did, no one ever ordered one that way...yet.

For the price of a CGT I bet you could get it Barbie pink if you wanted.
