He was 95. Thats a pretty good run for a guy. The end of any era.

Laughter is the best medicine. I think the only one of the old hands to die young was Tex Avery. Seems Tex didn't watch enough of his own cartoons - they were hilarious!

I loved all of those cartoons. Not like the ones today. Good thing.....at 48 years old.......I'd still be watching them

The cartoons of today are horrible. Jimmy Neutron, Fairly Odd Parents, Ed, Edd, and Eddie--horrible. the only modern cartoon I like is The Simpsons. Mainly geared towards adults though. Sponge Bob is good for a kid cartoon...(I like it too)...

For some reason, it is very difficult to get Looney Tunes (Bugs, Daffy, Porky) produced now. All I can say about it is you don't see Disney shelving Mickey and Donald, do you?

That's a big loss. He touched so many many kids and adults including me. Thanks for posting the Tom & Jerry cartoon. I wish cartoons today could even match the caliber of the classics.

![]() I think Harvey Birdman is particularly appropriate, as it is a direct spoof of Hanna-Barbera cartoons. (Fred Flintstone as 'The Godfather'--Genius!) (Dr. Quest and Reese as an alternate-lifestyel couple--Genius!)

Dexter's Laboratory is great too.
ATHF gets tiring very quickly. I'm enjoying Futurama and Family guy a lot more now than when they first came out.

It's sad to see him go, but it's hard to feel sorry for him, too. 95 years of a life like that. We all should be that blessed.

"Hey boo-boo, let's go get us some pic-i-nic baskets!"
"Hey yogi, what about the ranger?" "F the ranger boo-boo, i'm smarter than the average bear, he-he-he-he." Sad to see Mr.B go.

Speaking to the writers and storyboard artists, almost all of them look at classic Looney Tunes and Hanna-Barbera cartoons for inspiration. If a person wants to get into animation, Adult Swim would definitely be a great launching pad.

Is that the infamous Williams Street building?
It's very obvious from watching Adult Swim that there is communication between the staffs of the various in-house produced shows. I think when those guys are 95, they will be thought of as fondly as William Hanna and Joseph Barbera. I'm not a big fan of rap/hip-hop, but it is interesting to see how the Atlanta music scene has become so interwoven with Adult Swim...

If you want a real challenge in the field, try working for the Southpark guys. In some cases they don't have a finished script until Wednesday, and the episode has to be in the can Saturday. Seventeen-hour work days are probably expected...
