Turbo Look for Sale??

So the guy puts a "Turbo" eblem on the rear lid and considers this a Turbo Look? Am I missing something here? I'm not looking to buy, just browsing.

LOL. That's pretty common. A lot of people think if you put a rear spoiler on a 911, that makes it a "Turbo Look."

737lindgren 12-26-2006 07:00 PM

just a fake knockoff
a real 87 turbo look would have a factory spoiler
ECT

widgeon13 12-26-2006 07:13 PM

The guy has just put the turbo log on the back, it has no flairs front or back and no turbo, it's just an 87 Carrera, if that...... people do this all the time, it's an ego trip and in some cases it's fraud.

Typical ad from someone who knows just enough to come across as a fool or a scammer.

BeyGon 12-26-2006 07:20 PM

Just two more things I don't understand,

Why put "Turbo" on a car that isn't? really looks bad when you get beat.
Why block out the license plate, on a for sale car or any other?

Larry_Ratcliff 12-26-2006 08:02 PM

LOL not even a turbo tail but a 3.2 carrera tail. SC flares but a turbo badge :)

wholberg 12-27-2006 04:30 AM

What a maroon (apologies to Bugs). Clearly not a TL. Has he ever seen a Turbo? Is he sure it's a Porsche?

GothingNC 12-27-2006 04:37 AM

Rear tires stick out a bit:rolleyes:

Drago 12-27-2006 04:58 AM

Guys, guys....you've got it all wrong. This is the ultra rare narrowbody TL look (the oft forgotten M491.425 option code). Only one was ever made and it was a gift from the factory to Butzi's third cousins Aunt Sue. Bruce A himself told me this as we lounged poolside, drinking Kamikazees at Sandals Resort one time, honest. ;)

Clearly, this car is worth a premium of at least that of pwd's S or maybe BB herself.

I heard confidentially that this puppy can spin to 9500 RPM and hit 190MPH with the narrow body conversion, it actually had turbo flares and the owner had them cut off because it slowed the car down.:D

k9handler 12-27-2006 05:58 AM

ha ha I was thinking of backdating the look of my car and put a 912 badge on it. =o)

jorian 12-27-2006 08:47 AM

Is that malibuboys' car?

zumwoll 12-27-2006 09:27 AM

maybe the owner thinks its a turbo cause he needs a step ladder to crawl into it, since with the wheel spacers stick out the tires so far.

Need's mud flaps to potect the paint.

zumwoll 12-27-2006 09:33 AM

Mud flaps! HAHA. Ya gotta love it. Like a guy said to me yesterday. NY eve is "rookie night". This guy is no doubt a rookie and perhaps a Pel or PCA guy can help him. Knowiing the bay area I would have sworn the car is from Fremont not The City.

The fun part is that you could actually order a Turbo with a narrow body. Porsche even had an option code for that. I guess it was the stealth Turbo. Like most Porsche options there's no way of knowing how may were actually built - but it is fun trivia.

turbo look isn't that "inexpensive".

Nape75'911T 12-27-2006 10:23 AM

Hmmm....

If he had of stuck on a "Laredo" badge instead of a Turbo badge, it may have reflected the stance and height a little better.....lol.

snbush67 12-28-2006 07:56 PM

Why not just put a GT2 badge on it and be done? Funny...
