Software to add arrows and text to photos

What software are you guys using here to enhance posted photos with arrows and text. The only thing I've figured out how to do is draw in boxes using Microsoft Paint.....and they're pretty lame. I'd like to kick it up a notch.

Thanks!

Dude, don't even bother with photoshop for adding arrows and illustrations. I use, snagit. Its available from www.techsmith.com. Trust me, super simple very easy.

I use Photoshop because I have it. But it is total overkill for what you want. I'm not aware of a way to edit photos in Powerpoint, so I'd recommend doing a search for freeware photo editors such as....

PowerPoint has all kinds of drawing tools. All you need to do is import the photo...do any drawing/text and then copy and paste the entire image into paint to save.
