 Red Duc

Don't chop up a Duc... especially if it's an SP edition.
I've regretted selling this bike, Red Duc, since the new owner loaded into his trailer some 5 years ago. If you must build a Ducati street fighter then find an old 996 series, not a 916 as they are "special" too. There are many for sale and the bikes handling will not be as compromised if/when you start chopping up the rear end. Cutting the rear end on a 900 seems to reduce the torsional rigidity of the front of the frame making the bike push really badly just past the apex of a turn. At least these were the results of a stripped down frakenbike 900ss I raced in a 2v aircooled class immediately following our brilliant track-side surgery. Compu-trac said everything was at spec on the frame and fork so it was either chopping the rear frame or some bad mojo from the earlier crash. The front light kit and faring on my old street bike were made by Powerbronze in the UK. Termi pipes are a must! Maybe find an older set of Termi slip-on reverse megaphones from a 888SPO. .02+/-http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1167920602.jpg |

 Yea thou Ducati

		Author not known...
Yea thou Ducati Yea, and though I walk in the valley of darkness, I shall fear no Aprilia Mille or RC-51, for mine is a righteous and holy bike, for thus spaketh the Lord to me from on high, saying... Thou shalt modify thy stock airbox and lose thy restrictive air filter, for it is unholy. Thou shalt install cold-air duct and foam Pipercross. Thou shalt whooosh and roar. Thou shalt remove thine stock exhaust, and ensconce it in thy holy shrine/garage. Thou shalt now smite thine enemies with thy custom exhaust, and weareth earplugs in thine ears. And thou shalt limp past the law, with thy noise and fury. Thou shalt explore the outer limits of braking deep into thy corners, and backfire and hurl fireballs from thy tailpipe. Thou shalt marvel that none dare tailgate thee. Thou shalt seeketh Keith Code, and revel in his wisdom. Thou shalt installeth thine Unimap and kiss thy rev limiter goodbye. Thou shalt exorcise thy handling demons and cast down thy Dunlop D207's, for they carry the Mark of the Beast. Thou shalt empty thy savings upon springs, shocks, camshafts, jet kits, sliders, reverse shifters, and race rubber, and thou shalt revel in tire wear. Thou shalt remain joyous whilst jostling thine innards upon every road imperfection. Thou shalt not early-apex. Thou shalt void thy warranty, that the evil minions of the foul motorcycle dealers shall not besmirch thy plastic with scratches, thy wheels with gouges, overfilleth thine oil sump, ruin thy bolts or weareth thy valves with low clearances. Thou shalt purchase one large double bubble fly screen, that the heathen may further marvel at what beauty thou hath wrought. Thou shalt weareth full one-piece leathers and Arai helmet. Thou must not visit early due to crash. Thou shalt purchase heavy fork-oil, for thine is too meek. Thou shalt marvel at the ease of installation. Thou must have pristine tool collection. Thou shalt install Ferodo CP911 brake pads upon thy stock calipers, so that they may give forth their fruits more quickly. Thou shalt pray and asketh for warped rotors nevermore. Thou shalt feed thy 2 cylinders well that they might service thee better. Thou shalt revel in the power of regular gasoline. Thou shalt spend less at the gas station than thy cage-dwelling brethren. Thou shalt quest for the likes of a turbo, and someday installeth one under thine tank. Thou shalt run unholy (just this once) boost levels. And thus thou shalt humiliate thine enemies, both at the track and in the streets. Thou shalt lose thy emission crap, passenger seat, and all other extra weight. Thou shalt become compulsive about this. Thou shalt seek professional counseling. Thy horsepower is now mighty. Thou shalt belong to Ducati Index forum, and adorn thy bike with undercostly stickers, so that thy fellow road warriors might revel in thine glory with thee and seek the righteous path of DI membership for themselves. And lastly..... Let us pray, Thou shalt not ever covet thy neighbor's 'busa. This could easily be rewritten to address our Porsche sickness... I'm not sick but I'm not well.... |

Joe, one of these days I'll ship my Ducati down to AZ, and we'll go blast through the hills. Of course I would ride it down there, but why waste precious hours rolling through boring Midwest and Upperplains flatland when the hills of the SW are so nice. :)
Yep, I'm a bastard...Wait until you see what I build :D Maybe I'll let you ride it before the wedding LOL!!! |

 Souk,
Did you notice that some of the promo photos that this company did are in Arizona? You might end up meeting miss sweet cheeks sooner down this way. I sure know that your motorcycle time would increase. Damm, I am going to go out and ride the bike for a while! Joe |

Excellent! Now with Richard's post, she's on every page of this thread so far. LOL.
	 |

I'm sure we'd get into enough trouble, Joe, even if Miss Sweet Cheeks can't be found :D

Well, there's always KLM. Flew them 10 days ago and fell in love several times! |

Giddyup! My harddrive is gonna be happy when I save Katrien's pictures to it :)
How about another CR...not that Katrien doesn't deserve to be in this thread, but we gotta make this thread legit! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1167954067.jpg |

Well gents, was wrong above. Does not happen that often but when it does will fess up.
