I was watching road racing from Ireland over the weekend. They had a class for vintage racers that were all of the café style, complete with skinny tires. It was interesting watching them challenge the course in the rain. |

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1529385109.jpg I think I have a problem. My wife is using terms like “hoarder”. I grabbed this from a guy up in anchorage for $3500. Too many bikes. The kid is turning sixteen. And will probably give it to her. |

Trick of the light. The tires are even repos of period correct ones. GPS speedo, high tech battery hidden under the seat connected to a stock bmw charger. The guy put a lot of nice touches on. Not happy with the drum brakes. And there probably is a way to upgrade. But this is a weekend toy I’m never going to push hard. So i’ll Probably just leave it. |

^^^ No kidding!!! I've lusted after one of those ever since I bought my '86 Yam. SRX600 Super Single. That's when I first saw them...Japan and UK only (apparently). They came in yellow, also. Dunno about other colors. That one was a For Sale on a UK moto forum many years past. |

I bought the first two (73.5 & 74’s) from a co-worker who put them in a storage locker 26 years ago. I am currently restoring them to look like new. The third one, also ‘74, was on the MRC - Morini Riders Club website. It was a show bike in 2014 but got put in a shed and now needs some cosmetic love. Most of the MRC guys are overseas but this bike was in CT. Just a couple hours away. I like the cafe racer style. The fact that these bikes did more with less - lightweight and great handling but not much power, is really similar to the 914 story and I have a couple of those. I also think the double drum model of this bike is and will be the most desirable year of the Sport, like a 911 RS. At least in my mind. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1530294732.jpg |
