Anyone in Auckland, NZ?
I'll be there from January 9-18, if anyone wants to get together for a beer.

Kiwis are always keen for a beers!
![]() i dont fly back in until jan 16th. Ive been away 6 months so I dont know what I'll be doing just yet. I would love to show you my stepdads porsches, my folks live 30 mins out of Auckland central at a beach. I wouldnt be able to guarantee it as he can be private about his things until he knows you... he loves his old british cars too. Had a jensen or 2, loves early mgb's and mgbgts- i learnt to drive in a pre-restoration roadster. hes currently got a '84 944, '78 SC racecar ( recently converted for targa rally), a 964 c2 tip, a 964 c2 5spd with gembella suspension, a '75 2.7, and his latest project is converting a replica 550 from electric to a 2L 6. He just bought a wrecked '69 targa for spares.

Hugh,
Try to get to the South Island. Whole different world and very beautiful place. Of all the places in the world I have been, the South Island is heaven on earth. Joe A

Joe:
I'm doing a tech scout that goes from the top of the North Island to the bottom of the South Island. I'm really looking forward to it.

If you get a chance, stop at a few of the Marlborough wineries in the northern part of the south island...some real gems! Taupo Lake is not to be missed either!!
Oh, and if you must stop in Nelson for the night, there's a hotel advertising rooms for $35 cheaper than anywhere else.... just be warned, the freight train passes within 12 feet of the rear of the hotel @ 3AM. ![]() Have fun!!
